ANDOVER, Mass.—Sophomore Victor Wiacek (Douglaston, N.Y.) and first-year Jack Beney (Greenwich, Conn.) each recorded a pair of top-10 finishes as the Babson College men's alpine ski team came in second and third in the slalom at Proctor Ski Area over the weekend.

The Beavers came in third behind first-place Castleton and second-place Clarkson for the third consecutive race on Friday, before finishing as the runner-up behind the Spartans in Saturday's competition.

Beney was Babson's top finisher in Friday's slalom for the second time in three races, posting a two-run time of 1:38.85 to come in sixth. Wiacek, nearly a full year removed from suffering a life-threatening injury at West Mountain, placed seventh in his return to competition, while first-years Liam Mooney (Manchester, Vt.) and Zachary Roman (Mashpee, Mass.) were separated by just over a second in finishing 10th and 12th, respectively.

Senior Eli Wolfson (Woodland Hills, Calif.) placed 17th and classmate Sean Robinson (Reno, Nev.) crossed the finish line in 26th position.

The Beavers grabbed four of the top eight spots on Saturday's individual leaderboard, highlighted by Wiacek coming in fourth to match his top career finish with a two-run time of 1:31.44. Beney came in fifth with a time of 1:32.18, which was 0.01 seconds ahead of senior Jack Blanchard (Dover, Mass.), who placed sixth.

Mooney came in eighth to post his second top-10 result of the winter, while Roman was just over a second behind him in 11th place with a two-run time of 1:35.31. Robinson crossed the finish line in 14th position to match his top showing of the year.

Babson returns to action next Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, N.Y.
