Alpine Skiing at Proctor Ski Area

THE SETUP
• Following a successful opening carnival at Wildcat Mountain, the Babson men's and women's ski teams travel to Proctor Ski Area for the second weekend of MacConnell Division competition.
• The Beavers and their league rivals will take part in back-to-back days of slalom races beginning on Friday morning.
LAST TIME AT PROCTOR SKI AREA
• The Babson men came in first and fourth in two slalom races, while the women's team placed fourth and sixth on the final weekend of MacConnell Division competition last February.
• Seniors Jack Blanchard (2nd), MacIntyre Henderson (4th) and Sean Robinson (5th) helped the Beavers win for the third time in the span of four races to end the year, while classmate Elizabeth Baer and sophomore Julia Martin both posted a pair of top-20 results for the Babson women.
SCOUTING THE BABSON WOMEN
• The Beavers opened the 2020 season by winning the giant slalom and coming in second in the slalom last week at Wildcat Mountain.
• Junior Sarah Mangiacotti finished second in the GS and seventh in the slalom, while Baer came in third in the GS and sixth in the slalom to lead the Green and White.
• After failing to complete two runs in the GS on Thursday, first-year Lauren Abdow posted an eighth-place finish in the slalom on Friday.
SCOUTING THE BABSON MEN
• The Beavers opened the season by finishing third in both the giant slalom and slalom at Wildcat Mountain.
• Five skiers made their collegiate debuts for Babson, highlighted by first-year Jack Beney placing eighth in the GS and third in the slalom.
• Rookie Liam Mooney placed fifth in the giant slalom, while Robinson (24th GS, 14th SL) and fellow senior Eli Wolfson (22nd GS, 19th SL) were the only Babson skiers to finish both races.
PAST SUCCESS AT PROCTOR
• In addition to last year's 11th and 18th-place results, Baer has posted a trio of top-three finishes, which includes one victory in the slalom in 2018 at Proctor.
• Henderson boasts six top-five finishes in six slalom races at Proctor, while Blanchard owns a first and a second-place showing and has not finished outside the top 17 in five career races.
• In addition to last year's fifth-place showing in the regular season finale, Robinson finished second in the first of two slalom races in 2017 and came in ninth and 11th in 2018.
WHAT'S UP NEXT
• The Beavers travel to Whiteface Mountain for a pair of giant slalom races on January 24-25.
