THE SERIES
• Babson and Trinity will meet for a three-game series in San Antonio for the second time in three years beginning on Friday. The Beavers are 1-2 all-time against the Tigers.

LAST MEETING
• Trinity rallied for four runs with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning on the way to defeating Babson, 12-11, in the series finale on March 5, 2017 in San Antonio.
• Seniors Connor Gill and Nicholas Browne both homered for the Beavers. Scott Walters was 3-for-5 with three RBI for the Tigers, who pounded out 21 hits and had seven different players drive in a run.

LAST BABSON WIN
• Jack Halpin '17 hit a grand slam, Ryan Arena '18 homered and drove in two runs, and Teddy Carey '18 struck out nine over six innings as the Beavers defeated Trinity, 8-4, in the opener of a three-game set on March 3, 2017, in San Antonio.
• Michael Davis doubled and Rafe Chaumette tripled for the Tigers, who finished with just two hits.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
• No. 3 D3baseball.com/No. 4 Collegiate Baseball Trinity (6-2) is coming off a 5-4 loss to Endicott to wrap up a three-game series last Sunday.
• Senior John Tucker hit a three-run homer and junior Mason Meredith swiped a pair of bases and scored twice for the Tigers.
• Meredith is batting .400 with four doubles and five runs batted in, Tucker is hitting .355 with four extra-base hits and 12 RBI, and senior Jake Martin enters the weekend at .316 with three doubles and nine runs scored.
• Sophomore Corey Cater is 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA in four appearances, while junior James Nittoli is 3-0 with a 2.89 ERA in three starts.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 18 D3baseball.com/No. 17 Collegiate Baseball Babson (0-0) returns 26 players from a team that went 35-12 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament York (Pa.) Regional final.
• The Beavers won 28 of their final 33 games on the way to capturing their second straight NEWMAC regular season and tournament championships.
• Senior Brian McHale batted .339 with 20 extra-base hits, 30 RBI and 51 runs scored, junior Jake Oliger hit .320 with 10 doubles and 37 runs batted in, and senior Eric Jaun doubled 10 times and drove in 24 runs to go along with a .318 average.
• Senior Michael Genaro went 9-1 with a 3.10 ERA and walked just three batters in 72.2 innings, Gill was 6-2 with 3.31 ERA in 11 starts, and fellow senior Max Tannenbaum went 1-0 with two saves in 20 relief appearances.

WRAPPING UP A RECORD-SETTING 2018
• The Green and White set school records for wins, runs scored (366) home runs (36), doubles (108), total bases (747) and walks (223) last spring.
• Genaro's nine victories also broke Andrew Aizenstadt's '11 previous single-season mark of eight set back in 2009.

BEAVERS SIT ATOP NEWMAC PRESEASON POLL
• Babson came in first on seven of eight ballots and was picked to finish first when the league announced its preseason coaches' poll earlier this week. The Beavers won 14 of its final 15 games to finish 14-3 in conference play on the way to finishing one game ahead of Wheaton in the standings last spring.

BEAVER BITES
• Gill enters the 2019 campaign riding an eight-game hitting streak, while senior Edward Lehr hit safely in his final six outings last season.
• Lehr and junior Sean Harrington reached base safely in 15 straight games to end the 2018 campaign, while Jaun has been on base in each of the last 12 contests.
• Genaro's 18 career wins are just three shy of Sam Kilpatrick's '97 program record of 21.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
• The Beavers went 35-4 last season when scoring at least four runs.
