Tournament Preview: Women's Hoops to Face Rochester, Unbeaten Ephs at Williams Holiday Classic

WHAT TO KNOW
• Babson will wrap up its first semester schedule with a pair of games at Williams. The Beavers face Rochester on Friday night and will take on the host Ephs on Saturday afternoon.

SERIES HISTORY
vs. Rochester
• Babson is 1-0 all-time against Rochester after recording a 58-48 win over the Yellow Jackets last November.

vs. Williams
• The Beavers are 4-12 all-time against the Ephs in a series that dates back to 1997.
• The Green and White picked up its first win over Williams since 2001 last January in Babson Park.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (2-3) has dropped two straight games after suffering a 99-88 OT loss at Brandeis on Tuesday.
• Senior Emily Bonifacic scored 29 points and classmates Katherine Tamulionis and Jacqueline Jozefick both added 18 points for the Beavers, who outscored the Judges 42-34 in the paint.
• Bonifacic (21.4 pts, 8.0 reb) is shooting 64.1 percent from the floor, first-year Megan Bauman (12.2 pts, 4.6 ast) has scored in double figures in four straight contests, and Tamulionis is averaging 11.2 points and 3.2 assists in over 36 minutes per outing.
• The Green and White has shot better than 40 percent from the floor in four of its first five games.

SCOUTING THE YELLOW JACKETS
• Rochester (4-3) snapped a two-game skid with an 85-73 victory over William Smith back on November 26.
• First-year Hannah Lindemuth led four players in double figures with 23 points and senior Lauren Foley added 21 for the Yellow Jackets, who knocked down a program record 14 three-pointers.
• Foley (12.3 pts, 1.4 reb) is shooting 48.9 percent from beyond the arc, first-year Alexis Sestric is averaging 10.7 points and Lindemuth (10.3 pts, 4.3 reb) is second on the team in rebounding.
• Rochester ranks 16th in Division III in blocked shots per game (5.7) and is committing just 14.4 turnovers.

SCOUTING THE EPHS
• Williams (6-0) remained unbeaten with a 68-49 victory at Wesleyan on Tuesday night.
• Junior Mikaela Topper finished with 19 points and nine rebounds and classmate Maggie Meehan added 18 points for the Ephs, who scored 25 seconds-chance points on 23 offensive rebounds.
• Meehan (15.5 pts, 3.3 reb) is second on the team in steals, Topper (14.3 pts, 4.7 reb, 2.7 ast) leads the squad in assists, and senior Emily Chang (13.8 pts, 4.2 reb) is shooting 48.4 percent from the floor.
• Williams ranks 15th in Division III in field goal defense holding its first six foes to just 30.8 percent shooting.

FINISHING TOUCH
• Bonifacic finished 14-of-21 from the floor in Tuesday's loss at Brandeis and enters this weekend's tournament ranked 11th in Division III in field goal percentage at 64.1.
• Her 21.4 points per game average is also ranked 21st nationally.

HISTORY LESSON
• Bonifacic and Tamulionis each scored 13 points in last year's 58-48 win over the Yellow Jackets in Rochester.
• The trio of Bonifacic, Tamulionis and Jozefick combined for 29 points, 17 rebounds and six assists in last season's 67-51 triumph over Williams.

NEARLY ENOUGH
• Tuesday's loss at Brandeis snapped the program's 83-game winning streak when scoring at least 75 points, a run that extended all the way back to 2009.
• The result also marked the first time Babson had lost when scoring over 80 points since February 18, 1988, when it suffered a 90-85 2OT setback at Bridgewater State.

NUMBER TO KNOW
• In their two wins this season the Beavers are averaging 71.0 points on 48 percent shooting.
