Men's and Women's Alpine Ski Teams Place 2nd in GS at Crotched Mountain

BENNINGTON, N.H.—The Babson College men's and women's alpine ski teams both finished second in their final giant slalom race of the regular season on Sunday at Crotched Mountain Resort.

The Beavers had three female skiers post top-10 finishes on their way to a team time of 6:07.89, which was just 1.60 seconds off the pace of Brown. Connecticut came in third, while Castleton and Clarkson rounded out the top five.

First-year Elizabeth Baer (Salt Lake City, Utah) recorded the fastest second run of any racer in the field and came in third overall with a time of 2:01.28. Junior Tatum Alkier (Collingwood, Ontario) came in ninth at 2:03.25, while sophomore Teagan Mosenthal (Campton, N.H.) was just 0.11 seconds behind her in 10th position.

Junior Michelle Martin (Belmont, Mass.) finished 15th overall, senior Kristen Sweeney (Westport, Conn.) was 17th and classmate Megan Jones (Essex, Mass.) recorded a 22nd-place showing for the Green and White.

Coming off a fourth-place result in the giant slalom on Saturday, the Babson rebounded with their first runner-up finish of the season on Sunday. The Beavers time of 5:54.01 was less than a second behind first-place Clarkson and helped them finish well ahead of third-place Clarkson and fourth-place Connecticut.

First-year MacIntyre Henderson (Park City, Utah) finished third overall with a time of 1:58.03 that was just 0.04 seconds off the pace of Clarkson's Andrew Yoviene. Classmates Douglas DeLuca (Holderness, N.H.) and Sean Robinson (Reno, Nev.) finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

Junior John Boland (Waitsfield, Vt.) came in 30th, first-year Eli Wolfson (Woodland Hills, Calif.) was a half-second behind him in 31st position, and senior Ben Greenspan (Chappaqua, N.Y.) placed 39th overall.

Babson, which enters the final weekend of the regular season in second place in both the men's and women's standings, will compete in the first of two slalom races at the Proctor/Blackwater Ski Area on Saturday morning.
