Low Notches 100th Career Goal as Men's Lacrosse Powers Past Gordon, 22-3

BABSON PARK, Mass.—Senior Spencer Low (Natick, Mass.) matched his career high with six goals, including the 100th of his career, and first-year Samuel Mishkind (Chappaqua, N.Y.) scored four times as Babson College rolled past visiting Gordon College, 22-3, in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday afternoon at MacDowell Field.

With the victory, Babson is now 1-2 on the year, while Gordon drops to 0-5.

Seniors John Harrison (Pembroke, Mass.) and Brendan Coan (Towson, Md.), and first-year Stephen Cadorette (Huntington, N.Y.) all finished with two goals and one assist for the Beavers. Junior Connor Flaherty (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) and sophomore Taylor Segreti (North Potomac, Md.) tied for game-high honors with two assists apiece as the Green and White finished with 11 different players in the scoring column.

Senior Roger Evans (Oxford, Pa.), classmate Jake Martin (Watertown, Conn.) and first-year Austin Early (Palmyra, Va.) all scored once to lead the Fighting Scots.

Low scored three times in the opening 2:33 of the contest and Babson won 8-of-10 first-quarter face-offs on its way to building a 9-0 lead after 15 minutes. Low pushed the lead to 11-0 with two more goals early in the second quarter. Gordon got on the board with Evans tally at the 3:07 mark, but Harrison notched the second of his two scores and Mishkind added his third goal of the half to give the Beavers 16-1 advantage at the break.

Cadorette set up the 100th goal of Low's career just under four minutes into the third quarter, and then recorded back-to-back tallies of his own to push the lead to 20-1 with 4:07 left in the stanza. First-year Brendan Duffy (Duxbury, Mass.) scored his first collegiate goal with 1:39 to go in the third to give the Babson its biggest lead of the game.

Sophomore Connor Maloney (Hopkinton, Mass.) won 11-of-14 face-offs for the Beavers, who finished 20-of-29 on the game. He also scooped up a team-high five ground balls, while fourth other players each finished with four.

Sophomore goalie Jordan Shapiro (Pleasantville, N.Y) made five first-half saves for the Green and White. First-year Kenan Glasgold (Princeton, N.J.) saw just one shot during the third quarter in his collegiate debut, and junior Grant Masingill (Victor, N.Y.) made one save in the final 15 minutes.

Senior Cody Greenwald (Albany, N.Y.) stopped 10 shots for the Fighting Scots.

The Beavers finished with a 48-17 edge in ground balls and were 19-of-22 on clear opportunities.

Both teams return to action next Thursday as Babson takes on Ithaca in Tampa, Fla., at 7:30 p.m., while Gordon hosts MIT at 4 p.m.

GAME NOTES
• Babson is now 5-0 all-time against Gordon in a series that dates back to 2001.
• Low is the first player since Alex Patinkin '13 to reach the 100-goal plateau, and is one of just seven players on record to accomplish the feat going back to 1981.
• The Beavers' 22 goals and their 19-goal margin of victory are the highest totals since a 27-4 win over Regis in 2013.
• Babson has won 20 consecutive game when leading after the third quarter.
