THE SERIES

Babson and Clark will meet for the 58th time on Saturday afternoon in a series that dates back to 1959. The Beavers are 35-16-6 all-time against the Cougars and are unbeaten in their last nine matches (7-0-2) between the two sides going back to 2007.

LAST MEETING
Tyler Carlos '16 scored his second goal of the game in the 84th minute as Babson defeated Clark, 2-1, on October 10, 2015, in Worcester. Kyle Krutis tied the game in the 83rd minute for the Cougars, only to see the Beavers' go back in front for good 56 seconds later when Carlos headed home a throw in from sophomore Carlo Araujo.

LAST CLARK WIN
David Blum tied the game just 34 seconds into the second half and Daniel Hoffman followed with the go-ahead brace in the 58th minute as the Cougars defeated Babson, 2-1, on September 23, 2006, in Worcester.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
Clark (10-1-0, 2-1-0 NEWMAC) bounced back from its first defeat of the year with a 3-0 win over Rivier on Wednesday. First-year Jonathan Guilherme opened the scoring in the 35th minute and junior Yousef Shahin tacked on a pair of second-half goals for the Cougars, who posted their seventh shutout of the year. Senior Zack Blais (4-3-11) has scored in league play, first-year Sean Munroe (3-3-9) is tied for the team leads in assists and Guilherme (3-2-8) is one of three players with two game-winning goals this fall. Junior goalkeeper Connor Maguire has posted a 0.82 goals against average and a .838 save percentage to go along with one clean sheet in eight starts.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
Babson (5-4-3, 2-1-0 NEWMAC) extended its unbeaten streak to five games with a 1-1 2OT draw against No. 6/9 UMass Boston on Tuesday. First-year Youcef Ziad scored in the 27th minute and junior goalkeeper James Takami finished with a career-high eight saves for the Beavers. Senior Adam Villari (3-1-7), sophomore Noah Parker (2-2-6) and Araujo (2-1-5) have combined for four game-winning goals, while senior Caleb Long is one of three players on the squad with two assists on the year. Takami, who leads the NEWMAC with 49 saves, owns a 0.95 goals against average and a .803 save percentage to go along with three clean sheets in 12 starts.

GETTING FORWARD
Long and junior Logan Ventura each had a goal and combined for five points in the Beavers' 5-1 victory over Clark at Hartwell-Rogers Field in 2014.

NEWMAC PARITY
Over the first three Saturday's of league play, just one point separates the top five teams in the standings, and seven of eight squads have earned at least one point. The top five teams will qualify for November's conference tournament.

FIRST 45
Babson has gone 5-1-3 this season when it is leading or tied going into halftime.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
The Beavers are 12-3-2 over their last 17 games in the month of October going back to 2014.
