LUDLOW, Vt.—The Babson College men's and women's alpine ski teams wrapped up their opening weekend of competition at the University of Connecticut Carnival on Friday afternoon. The men's team posted its second consecutive second-place finish, this time in the Giant Slalom, while the women's team came in 11th at the Okemo Mountain Resort.

Led by sophomore Carter Dowd's (Salt Lake City, Utah) fifth-place individual finish, the Beavers finished five seconds off the pace of first-place Clarkson University for the second day in a row. Dowd's combined time on his two runs was 2:34.16, just under four seconds off the winning time of the Golden Knights' Sean Donohue.

Sophomore Graham Quisenberry (Farmington, Conn.) finished 10th overall with a time of 2:36.98, while senior captain Clark Chamberlin (Auburn, Maine) posted a 14th-place finish is his season debut with a total time of 2:37.36. Sophomore Sam Barber (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) came in right behind Chamberlin in 15th position, posting a time of 2:38.17.

On the women's side, first-year Molly Danzig (Allendale, N.J.) was again the Beavers to skier, posting a two-run time of 2:59.52 to finish 30th. Senior captain Jaclyn LaCavalla (New City, N.Y.) came in with a time of 3:19.47, good for 45th place, while sophomore Caroline Boffa (Easton, Conn.) was 52nd with a total time of 3:33.17.

The Green and White return to action next Friday, when it hosts the Babson Carnival at Mount Sunapee in Newbury, N.H.
