Men's Skiing Places Second in GS at USCSA Eastern Regionals

GREENWOOD, Maine -- The Babson College men's alpine ski team turned in a fantastic performance in the giant slalom portion of the 2013 USCSA Eastern Regional Championships at Mount Abram on Saturday. The Beavers finished second out of 17 teams at the competition as they attempt to earn their sixth straight bid to the USCSA National Championships.

Leading the way on Saturday was the first-year trio of Carter Dowd, Sam Barber, and Graham Quisenberry. Dowd finished fourth out of 64 skiers with a two-run total time of 1:41.36, while Barber joined him in the top-10 with an eighth-place finish in 1:41.81. Quisenberry rounded out the team's scoring three in 12th in 1:43.40, and sophomore Kevin Dachos added a 21st-place performance in 1:45.32.

The Beavers complete their weekend showing at the USCSA Eastern Regionals with the slalom competition on Sunday. With a top-five finish in the overall combined standings, Babson would secure yet another trip to the USCSA Nationals to be held in Sun Valley, Idaho in early March.
