ANDOVER, N.H. -- The Babson College ski teams closed out their weekend with another stellar performance at Blackwater on Saturday, as both squads competed in their third slalom race of the young season. The men, ranked eighth in the nation in CollegeSnowSports.com's most recent USCSA Alpine Rankings, placed second overall at the competition, while the women tied for eighth after failing to meet the requirements for a team score.

First-year Carter Dowd posted Babson's best finish of the day, placing second overall with a total time of 1:30.25. Sophomore Kevin Dachos broke into the top 10 for the first time this season, placing ninth overall, while senior captain Zach Breakstone and first-year Sam Barber came in 12th and 13th, respectively.

A tough second run forced women's senior captain Franny Robertson to settle for 16th overall, while junior Jaclyn Lacavalla followed in 40th. First-year Caroline Boffa tacked on a 54th-place performance, but with no other skiers in action the Beavers fell short of the four-time requirement.

Babson will next head to Lake Placid, New York, where the Green and White will compete in back-to-back giant slalom races at Whiteface next Saturday and Sunday.
