ANDOVER, N.H. -- First-year Kevin Dachos and junior Zach Breakstone each recorded a pair of top-20 finishes to help the Babson College men's alpine ski team finish fourth overall in the GS at Gunstock on Friday and sixth in the slalom at Blackwater on Saturday as part of the two-day Brown Carnival. The Babson women were also in action, taking eighth place overall in the GS and seventh in the slalom.
On Friday, Dachos and Breakstone finished just 0.07 seconds apart in 14th and 15th place, respectively. Joining them in cracking the top 20 was junior Richard Beneduci, who came in 18th. Rounding out the men's lineup in the GS were junior Ryan Drake in 29th place, senior captain Greg LaFrance in 34th, and first-year Nate Hoffman in 39th.
The women were paced in Friday's GS by junior Hillary Reis, who placed 20th, junior captain Franny Robertson, who came in 24th, and sophomore Jaclyn LaCavalla, who finished 33rd.
Dachos and Breakstone once again anchored the men's lineup in Saturday's slalom competition, with Dashos placing 15th and Breakstone taking 20th. Beneduci followed in 24th place, while sophomore Clark Chamberlin finished 31st. Robertson posted the women's best finish in the slalom by finishing 17th overall, followed by Reis in 36th.
