RESULTS
SUN VALLEY, Idaho -- The Babson College men's alpine ski team
wrapped up the program's eighth appearance at the United States
Collegiate Ski Association (USCSA) National Championships with the
slalom competition at Greyhawk on Saturday, where the Beavers
placed 14th out of 20 schools. As a result, Babson finished 12th in
the overall team standings at the competition.
Sophomore Zach Breakstone posted the Beavers'
top finish on Saturday, placing 24th overall with a two-run
combined time of 1:36.59. Senior captain Keith
Vella followed in 52nd place with a total time of 2:01.92,
and junior Greg LaFrance rounded out the team's
scoring trio in 62nd place with a 2:25.98.
In the final individual standings, Vella finished 28th overall
while Breakstone followed in 32nd place and senior captain
Max Winthrop ranked 56th. For Vella and
Winthrop, this marked the fourth straight trip to the national
championships in their illustrious careers, making them the first
class in program history to accomplish that feat.
