RESULTS
WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. – The Babson College ski teams
completed day one of the Plymouth State Carnival at Waterville
Valley on Saturday. The men finished the slalom portion of the
event in fourth place, while the women took eighth.
Senior captain Max Winthrop (Avon, Conn.)
placed ninth out of 61 with a two-run time of 1:29.55 for his
highest finish of the season. Junior teammate Gregory
LaFrance (Brookline, N.H.) finished in 28th place with a
time of 1:36.98. Finishing 34th was sophomore Ricky
Beneduci (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.) completing his two runs
in a combined time of 1:40.78. Sophomore Ryan Drake (West
Simsbury, Conn.) and senior Scott Kern
(Basking Ridge, N.J.) finished in 42nd and 43rd place
respectively.
For the women, sophomore Franny Robertson (Douglas,
Wyo.) placed 18th overall with a combined time of 1:36.57
to lead the Beavers once again. She was followed by senior captain
Alexis Burton (Salt Lake City, Utah) who placed
30th with a time of 1:41.36. Senior captain Alyssa Sullivan
(Tiverton, R.I.) was right behind in 31st with a time of
1:42.35. Rounding out the group were first-years
Jaclyn LaCavalla (New City, N.Y.)
and Sophie Komornicki (Naperville, Ill.)
finishing in 57th and 59th place respectively.
Both teams will finish out the weekend on Sunday with the
giant slalom event.
