PINKHAM NOTCH, N.H. -- The Babson College alpine ski teams finished their 2009 regular season at the BC/Brown Carnival at Wildcat on Saturday, where the men placed third overall and the women came in 10th. As a result, the men finished the year in fifth place in the final McConnell Division standings, and the women finished ninth.

One day after officially locking up their sixth bid to the ECSC Championships in the last seven years, the men's team finished off another stellar season with a third-place finish thanks to four top-20 finishes. Leading the way was senior co-captain John Roche, who took sixth place in his final regular season race to finish eight in the final MacConnell Division individual standings. He was joined in the top 20 by first-year Max Winthrop, who recorded a career-best 15th-place finish, sophomore Keith Vella, who came in 16th, and senior co-captain Kevin Fusick, who followed in 17th. Junior Chris Jacobs also had a strong day, placing 23rd overall, as did junior Connor Lemenze, who came in 39th.

Including Roche, Babson placed five men in the top 35 in the final individual division standings. Vella finished in 29th, Jacobs placed 30th, Fusick came in 32nd, and Winthrop finished 34th.

Sophomore Alexis Vest-Burton led the women's team with a 33rd-place effort on Saturday, while junior Tahira Adatia came in 52nd. Despite not finishing her second run, sophomore Alyssa Sullivan finished 30th in the final MacConnell Division standings, while Vest-Burton finished 36th.
