Winn Breaks Scoring Record, But Men's Soccer Falls To Chicago

BOX SCORE

BABSON PARK, Mass. -- Babson College senior co-captain Tim Winn (Sutton, Mass.) moved into sole possession of first place on the program's all-time points list on Saturday, but the Beavers still fell to the University of Chicago, 3-2, on the first game of the team's midwest trip.

Winn, who entered the day tied with Jonah Frisch '03 with 103 career points, scored a pair of goals to push his record total to 107. With Babson trailing 1-0, he netted his first of the day off a free kick from 25 yards out at 14:27 to tie the contest at one apiece. Later in the period, he knocked in a loose ball off a rebound of first-year Max Walker's (Newton, Mass.) shot for his second of the game at 33:35, giving the Beavers a 2-1 cushion at the break.

Chicago came storming back with a pair of goals in the second half, both coming off the foot of Stanton Coville. His first came off a rebound in front of the net at 61:36, and the eventual game-winner followed at 80:54 when he converted a short cross from Kenzo Manners.

First-year Peter Crowley (Lexington, Mass.) went the distance in net for Babson, making a total of nine saves, while Chris Giusto turned away five shots in goal for Chicago.

The Beavers conclude their midwest trip tomorrow afternoon, when they take on Aurora University at 1 p.m. local time (2 p.m. ET).
