Sept. 22, 2007

Box Score

BABSON PARK, Mass. - Junior Tim Winn (Sutton, Mass.) scored two more goals and sophomore Daniel Fogarty (Brookline, N.H.) added another to lead the Babson College Beavers to a 3-0 win over the visiting Clark University Cougars in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's soccer contest at Hartwell-Rogers Field on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, Babson, ranked sixth in New England, improved to 6-1-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference, while Clark dipped to 2-2-3 overall and 0-1-1 in the NEWMAC.

After neither team scored in an evenly-played first half, Fogarty put Babson on the board just over four minutes into the second when he netted the first goal of his collegiate career off a cross from senior Jonny Hakala (New Ipswich, N.H.). Winn then made it 2-0 when he converted a feed from senior Justin Unger (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) out of a crowd in front at 73:07, and the junior All-American tacked on his second of the game and league-leading ninth of the season off a cross from Fogarty at 82:30 to cap off the 3-0 victory.

Senior captain Chris Necklas (Guilford, Conn.) recorded four saves in net for Babson to earn his third consecutive shutout and extend his scoreless minutes streak to 234. He now has five shutouts this season and 38 in his career.

Junior Peter Wise (Providence, R.I.) went the distance in net for Clark, finishing with seven saves.
