Box Score
BRUNSWICK, Maine -
Bowdoin College senior forward Nick Figueiredo scored the game-winner early in the second half to set the Polar Bear school record for goals and lead the men's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Babson on Sunday. The Polar Bears improve to 9-3-1 while Babson drops to 10-5-1 overall.
A beautiful cross by first-year Tim Prior from the right wing found Figueiredo in the box, who headed it home at 49:05 for his program-record 33rd career tally. Figueiredo also had a hand in Bowdoin's two other scores, assisting on a nifty give-and-go on Micah Grueber's goal in the 68th minute and earning an assist on a rocket goal by Alex Hirshberg in the 70th as the Polar Bears sealed the victory.
Netminder Nathan Lovitz earned his 20th career shutout - one shy of the school record - by making three saves in the win. Senior captain Chris Necklas made three saves in net for Babson.
