GREENSBORO, N.C.—Junior Aman Vantipalli (Alpharetta, Ga.) and sophomore Luke Walker (Bradenton, Fla.) both shot 71 and 20th-ranked Babson College posted its lowest round of the tournament on the way to placing 10th in the Gate City Invitational at Forest Oaks Country Club on Tuesday afternoon. 

The Beavers' top four shot an 8-over 296 in the final round to conclude the 54-hole tournament with a score of 29-over 893. No. 2 Huntingdon finished at 9-under 855 to post a four-stroke victory over second-place and ninth-ranked Kenyon (859). Shenandoah came in third at 2-under while No. 5 Methodist (9-over) and Greensboro (14-over) rounded out the top five. 

Vantipalli, who started on the 13th hole, was among the individual leaders throughout his round and took a one-stroke lead with his fifth birdie of  the day on the 448-yard, par-4 ninth hole. He followed it up with a par but made a double-bogey on the par-5 11th hole and finished the tournament in a six-way tie for fifth place at 2-under 214. 

Walker also put together a terrific final round with a career-best 1-under 71 that helped him grab a share of 32nd place at 6-over 222. Starting on the 14th hole, he made birdies on Nos. 18, 6 and 11 and went to the closing hole at 3-under for the day before ending with an unfortunate double-bogey. 

Senior Jack Berry (Western Springs, Ill.) shot a 78 and tied for 53rd position at 12-over, while first-year Sadiq Habib (Richmond Hills, Ontario) carded an 81 to wrap up the 54-hole tournament at 19-over in a tie for 79th. Junior Chad Tordone (Barnstable, Mass.) bounced back from a tough second round on Monday to shoot a 76 to earn a share of 84th place at 21-over. 

Babson returns to action on Saturday and Sunday when it travels to Taconic Golf Club to compete in the Williams Invitational. 

TOURNAMENT NOTES
•    Vantipalli's tie for fifth place was his best finish at a 54-hole tournament since placing third at the Williams Invitational last September. He also posted his sixth top-20 showing in 11 career 54-hole events. 
•    The Beavers tied for sixth in the 18-team field with 170 pars and also tied for eighth in par-3 scoring at 15-over. 
•    Vantipalli led the field in par-4 scoring at 3-under and tied for fifth among 99 players in par-3 scoring at even.
