2026 NFHCA Division III Watchlist

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Babson College junior Penny Baroni (Dennis, Mass.) and sophomores Anna Bonazzoli (Clinton, Mass.) and Madison Tibbals (Gorham, Maine) were named to the 2026 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Watchlist on Thursday. 

Per the NFHCA, the list recognizes field hockey student-athletes who have demonstrated a high level of achievement and are considered among those with strong potential for NFHCA All-Region and All-American consideration this season. Student-athletes must have been previously recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities (NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-America, All-Conference, Senior Nexus Championship selection, NCAA All-Tournament Team, or selection to a U.S. National or international team roster).

A two-year veteran and starter in the last 34 of her 46 career games, Baroni earned several post-season honors in 2025, including NFHCA All-America second team and All-Region first team as well as All-New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) first team accolades. She scored 11 goals and recorded seven assists to finish second on the team in scoring with 29 points in 2025, going 4-for-4 on penalty strokes and scoring five game-winning goals. She registered her first career hat trick in a 4-3 season-opening win at Endicott, scored once in a 2-1 OT triumph over Tufts, and notched both goals in a 2-0 win over MIT. Baroni was also the 2024 NEWMAC Rookie of the Year after scoring five goals and adding one assist for 11 points.

One of five Babson players to start all 24 games last season, Bonazzoli earned her first NFHCA All-Region honor after receiving All-NEWMAC First Team recognition last fall. The rookie center back led a squad that allowed just 22 goals in 24 games while recording 11 shutouts. She helped a Beaver defense that conceded just three goals in nine NEWMAC regular season games with six shutouts and then posted back-to-back whitewashes on the way to the conference tournament title. Babson ranked 13th in Division III with a 0.89 team goals against average and 18th in shutouts per game. She also scored her first career goal in a 5-1 loss at No. 1 Middlebury and added assists in wins over Wellesley and Springfield.

The starting goalkeeper in Babson's final 23 games last season, Tibbals enjoyed a terrific rookie season in 2025, recording a 21-2 record with a 0.84 goals against average, a .800 save percentage with 76 saves, and nine shutouts. After posting five straight shutouts and seven in the last nine games of the regular season, she posted back-to-back whitewashes over Springfield and WPI to help the Beavers capture the NEWMAC Championship. She then finished with five saves in a 2-1 victory over Bowdoin in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, posted a two-save shutout in a 1-0 triumph over Wesleyan in the NCAA quarterfinals, and made 10 saves in a 2-1 double-overtime loss to Johns Hopkins in the NCAA semifinals.

No. 3 Babson opens the season at No. 10 Endicott next Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Beverly, Mass.
