WHAT TO KNOW
• The Babson softball team will look to secure a spot in next week's NEWMAC Tournament when it hosts Wellesley for a pair of games on Friday before traveling to Springfield for a doubleheader on Saturday to end the regular season.
SERIES HISTORY
vs. Wellesley
• Babson is 30-18 all-time against the Blue in a series that dates back to 2005.
• The Beavers have split their last six games with Wellesley since 2023, which includes a sweep for each team at home in addition to trading one-run decisions last April.
• Each of the last six games between the teams have been decided by either one or two runs, the squads have combined for five runs or fewer in every contest and neither Babson or Wellesley has topped three runs in any of the games.
• The Green and White won the opener 3-2 before dropping a 3-2 decision on April 18, 2025, at Wellesley.
vs. Springfield
• Babson is 34-42 all-time against the Pride in a series that dates back to 1999.
• The Beavers have won 11 of their last 16 games versus Springfield, which includes victories in five of their last seven contests on the road in the series since 2022.
• Going back to 2017, 13 of the last 23 games between the teams have been decided by either one or two runs.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (17-19, 9-7 NEWMAC) has won four straight NEWMAC games but is coming off an 11-6 loss to Endicott in its non-conference finale on Tuesday afternoon.

Sophia Pak had an RBI single and scored twice, and first-year
Alexa Young singled and drove in a season-high three runs for the Beavers, who scored four times in the bottom of the fourth to take a 5-2 lead before giving up nine runs in the top of the fifth.

Belle DiCampello is batting .346 with eight doubles, two triples, 21 RBI and 11 runs scored, junior
Lexi Sealey is hitting .336 with 15 doubles, a home run, a team-high 23 RBI and 19 runs scored, and classmate
Charlotte Raymond leads the team with a .421 on-base percentage to go along with a .333 average, eight doubles, two homers, 20 RBI and 15 runs scored.

Anna Topel (5-5, 3.75 ERA) has 40 strikeouts in 69.0 innings, junior
Katie Vlacich is 5-9 with a 4.89 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 77.1 innings pitched, and Sealey (3-3, 3.48 ERA) has pitched 54.1 innings with 15 of her 18 appearances coming in relief.
SCOUTING THE BLUE
• Wellesley (18-11, 9-7 NEWMAC) has won three of its last four games and is coming off a 13-1 rout of Emerson last Saturday.
• Brooklyn Awad went 4-for-5 with a triple, two RBI and two runs scored, and Diana Borrison, Andrea Delgado and Alena Mulhern all finished with two hits and two runs batted in for the Blue, which scored 12 unanswered runs over the final five innings.
• Jill Colgan is batting .397 with eight extra-base hits, 13 RBI and eight runs scored, Mulhern is hitting .367 with four extra-base hits, 11 walks, 17 RBI and 23 runs scored, and Delgado enters the weekend with a .348 average to go along with one home run, four doubles, 14 RBI and 16 runs scored.
• Colgan is 6-2 with a 2.00 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 73.2 innings pitched, while Sarah Wicker (7-3, 2.13 ERA) boasts a 1.05 WHIP and has help opposing hitters to a .202 average while striking out 76 in 79.0 innings this season.
SCOUTING THE PRIDE
• Springfield (23-10, 12-4 NEWMAC) had won seven in a row before suffering a 6-3 in game two of Tuesday's doubleheader against Manhattanville.
• Amelia DeRosa went 3-for-4 with a two-run triple, Kate Katsetos contributed an RBI single and Taylor Falotico went 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Pride, which scored all three of its runs in the bottom of the seventh.
• DeRosa ranks second in the conference in both batting average (.465) and on-base percentage (.534) to go along with eight doubles, four triples, 33 RBI and 21 runs scored, Katsetos is batting .387 with five extra-base hits, 22 RBI and 15 runs scored, and Reilly Hunter is hitting .336 with 11 doubles, a triple, six stolen bases, 15 RIB and a team-high 27 runs scored.
• DeRosa (14-4, 1.85 ERA) boasts a 1.16 WHIP and has 105 strikeouts against just 27 walks in 121.0 innings pitched, while Julia Rimshnick is 8-6 with a 4.80 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 97.2 innings this spring.
WHAT'S THE SCENARIO
• Babson and Wellesley enter Friday's doubleheader tied for fourth place in the conference standings and are among a group of five teams separated by just two games in the loss column with four games to play.
• Coast Guard (10-8) and Smith (8-8) trail the Beavers and Blue by just one game in the loss column, while Wheaton (7-9) sits two games back as the five teams are fighting for the final four spots in next week's NEWMAC Tournament alongside WPI (15-1), Springfield (12-4) and MIT (12-4).
• The top five teams will advance directly to the double-elimination portion of the tournament, which starts on Wednesday, May 6, while the sixth and seventh seeds will meet in a play-in game next Monday, May 4.
• Babson likely needs two wins from its final four games to secure a spot in the championship, and could finish as high as third by sweeping Wellesley and Springfield along the Pride dropping all four games on the final weekend.
PAST SUCCESS AGAINST THE PRIDE AND BLUE
• Pak is 6-for-12 (.500) with a double, two RBI and two runs scored over her last four games against Springfield, and went 2-for-4 with three walks a run scored in last year's doubleheader at Wellesley.

Emily Walsh drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning of last year's 2-1 NEWMAC Tournament win over Springfield, and is hitting .333 (4-for-12) with a double, two walks, three stolen bases, an RBI and two runs scored in four career games versus the Blue.
• Sophomore
Maddy DeLong singled in both games last season at Wellesley in addition to walking twice, swiping a bag and scoring a run.
VLACICH EARNS CONFERENCE HONORS
• Thanks to back-to-back shutouts, Vlacich was selected as the NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon.
• In addition to striking out five in Saturday's complete-game three hitter against Clark, she gave up just two hits while fanning five in a 9-0 five-inning win at Salve Regina on Friday evening.
• Over her last four starts versus conference foes going back to April 17, Vlacich is 3-1 with a 1.13 ERA, a 1.21 WHIP and 17 strikeouts in 24.2 innings pitched.
BABSON TRENDS
• Sealey's 15 doubles in all games are the most by a Babson player since 2016. She ranks first in NEWMAC play with 10 doubles and is also tied for fourth among league players with 15 RBI in 16 contests.
• Raymond ranks fourth in doubles (7) and total bases (37), fifth in hits (24) and RBI (15) seventh in OPS (1.136) and eighth in batting average (.429) in 16 conference games.
• DiCampello enters the week with an 11-game on-base streak, while DeLong is riding a four-game hitting streak.
• Sealey leads the Green and White with 11 multi-hit games and DiCampello and Walsh are tied for second with 10, while DiCampello and Sealey hold the team lead with five multi-RBI games.
