WHAT TO KNOW
• After getting back to .500 in league play by winning three of four games last weekend, the Babson softball team will visit Wheaton for a doubleheader on Friday before returning to Alumni Field to host a twin bill against Coast Guard on Saturday afternoon.
SERIES HISTORY
vs. Wheaton
• Babson is 29-50 all-time against the Lyons in a series that dates back to 1987.
• The Beavers have split four consecutive NEWMAC regular season doubleheaders versus the Lyons since 2022.
• The Green and White won two of three one-run games between the teams last season, and each of the last five and six of the last eight contests between the squads have been decided by a single run.
• Babson won 5-4 and lost 1-0 in last year's regular season matchups, and then defeated Wheaton 4-3 in a NEWMAC Tournament elimination game last May.
vs. Coast Guard
• Babson is 34-39 all-time versus the Bears in a series that dates back to 1991.

• Babson (12-15, 4-4 NEWMAC) has won three of its last four in league play but is coming off a 9-0 loss to No. 12 Tufts at Alumni Field on Tuesday.

Lexi Sealey owns a .326 average to go along with 12 extra-base hits, 16 RBI and 13 runs scored.

Anna Topel is 4-4 with a 4.06 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 40.1 innings pitched, junior
Katie Vlacich is 2-8 with a 6.44 earned run average and 35 strikeouts in 50.0 innings of work, and Sealey (2-1, 2.78 ERA) owns three saves over 40.1 innings this spring.
SCOUTING THE LYONS
• Wheaton (13-10, 3-5 NEWMAC) has won back-to-back games after shutting out Roger Williams 6-0 on Wednesday.
• Peyton Blakenheim-Brown hit a solo homer in the first inning, a two-run blast in the third and combined with Brittany Dost and Sofia De La Rosa on a six-hit shutout for the Lyons, who allowed just two base runners to reach third base in the victory.
• Ella Molinari, who has multiple hits in six of her last seven games, is batting .405 with two homers, seven doubles and team highs of 20 RBI and 19 runs scored, Blankenheim-Brown is hittin g.381 with five home runs, three doubles, 19 RBI and 11 runs scored, and Emma Boucher is riding a four-game hitting streak to raise her average to .328 to go along with four doubles, eight RBI and nine runs scored.
• Blankenheim-Brown (8-4, 1.58 ERA) has three shutouts and boasts a 0.98 WHIP to go along with 49 strikeouts in 75.1 innings pitched over 12 starts, while De La Rosa is 5-6 with a 2.51 ERA, three shutouts and 77 strikeouts over 69.2 innings.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
• Coast Guard (12-10, 6-4 NEWMAC) has dropped two straight and four of its last six games after falling to then-No. 22 WPI 10-5 and 4-1 last Saturday in Worcester.
• Emma Behel had a first-inning RBI single and Zoey Lynn and Hayden Reilly finished two hits apiece in game two for the Bears, who got three strikeouts in a complete-game effort in the circle from Dana Walker.
• Abriana Schmutz is batting .471 with five extra-base hits, four RBI and 16 runs scored, Maura Murphy is hitting .323 with seven extra-base hits, 12 RBI and eight runs scored, and Mack Murnane owns a .296 average to go along with two homers, six doubles, 11 RBI and nine runs scored.
• Walker (8-6, 1.42 ERA) has two shutouts, a 1.11 WHIP and 69 strikeouts against just 20 walks in 79.0 innings pitched, Lynn is 2-2 with a 2.02 ERA in 27.2 innings of work and Behel is 2-1 with a 3.37 earned run average in 27.0 innings over eight appearances.
TIGHTLY PACKED NEWMAC
• No. 15 WPI and No. 22 MIT are tied atop the conference standings at 9-1 while the next six teams chasing them all enter the weekend separated by just two games in the standings.
• The Beavers (4-4) sit just a game behind Smith (5-3) and are tied in the loss column with Springfield (6-4), Wellesley (6-4) and Coast Guard (6-4).
• Wheaton enters Friday's doubleheader just a game behind Babson for the seventh and final spot in next month's NEWMAC Tournament.
TRENDS TO WATCH
• McCall enters the weekend riding a six-game hitting streak in addition to reaching base safely in each of her last 14 starts. During this stretch, which dates back to March 21, she is batting .359 with two doubles, eight RBI and a .444 on-base percentage.
• In nine games in the month of April, Raymond is batting .533 (16-for-30) with a home run, two doubles, eight RBI, six runs scored and a .588 OBP.
• DiCampello has at least one hit in five straight games, while Sealey and first-year
Charly Landow have both reached base in five consecutive outings.
• The Beavers are hitting .340 as a team in eight games against NEWMAC foes and the trio of DiCampello (9), Raymond (8) and Sealey (8) have combined for 25 of the team's 47 runs batted in.
• DiCampello leads the Green and White with nine multi-hit and five multi-RBI games.

• Senior
Sophia Pak went 7-for-8 (.875) at the plate with an RBI and two walks in three games last season against Wheaton.
• Raymond went 4-for-8 (.500) with a double, an RBI and one run scored in two multi-hit games last season against Coast Guard, while Pak also was 4-for-8 at the dish with two RBI and three runs scored in the doubleheader versus the Bears.
• Babson recorded 22 singles but no extra-base hits in three games against Wheaton in 2025.
• Over their first eight conference games, the Beavers rank second in runs per game (6.5) and on-base percentage (.413) third in doubles (21) and walks (29), and fourth in batting average (.340).
