Edward Wang recorded wins in both singles and doubles to help top-seeded Babson defeat second-seeded MIT, 4-1, in the NEWMAC Tournament final on April 28, 2025, in Babson Park.
• The duo combined for a 6-2 victory at number three doubles and both won in straight sets in singles with Zhang, the NEWMAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player, earning the clinching point with a 7-5, 6-4 triumph over Shrish Choudhary at number five.

Sebastian Mendoza also recorded a straight-set triumph at number six singles for the Green and White, while Kailas Kahler won 6-3, 6-2 at number one singles for the Engineers.

• No. 11 Babson (12-4, 4-0 NEWMAC) has won four of its last five matches after dispatching Clark, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon.

Max Lidman were all victorious in both singles and doubles for the Beavers, who breezed through doubles and recorded five straight-set wins in singles.

Alexander Merson is 15-2 in all matches and 7-1 at number one singles, first-year
Maxim Zlobinsky is 13-4 overall and 8-2 at first through four singles, and Wang (12-6) and Mendoza (11-7) are 5-4 at second and third singles, respectively.

• No. 26 MIT (9-5, 4-0 NEWMAC) has won three of its last four matches and is coming off a 6-1 victory over Coast Guard on Saturday.
• Jeremy Yu and Nicholas Liu combined for a win at third doubles and followed it up with straight-set victories at number five and six singles as the Engineers remained unbeaten in league play.
• Hunter Liao is 12-4 in all matches and 5-2 this spring at number one singles, Tyler Li is 13-3 overall and 5-0 at number four singles, and Siddharth Marathe is 6-2 in dual-match singles play this spring.
• Adam Sun and Grant Gallagher are 8-9 overall and 6-7 at number one doubles, Li and Liao are 14-7 in all matches and 8-4 at number two, and the duo of Rushil Patel and Sanghyuk Im are 4-2 at number three doubles.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
• Coast Guard (2-7, 1-4 NEWMAC) has dropped back-to-back matches after suffering a 7-0 loss to No. 38 Vassar on Sunday afternoon.
• The closest match of the day came at number five singles where Konnor Eslinger forced a first-set tiebreaker before dropping a 7-6 (7-1), 6-0 decision.
• Ben Bonetto is 4-6 this spring at number one singles, while he and Brendan Love have gone 5-4 at number one doubles.
• The Bears enter the final week of the regular season needing wins over both Babson and Wheaton to claim a spot in upcoming NEWMAC Tournament.
WANG AND MENDOZA REPEAT AS NEWMAC DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK
• Thanks to a 6-2 win over George Chaidemenos and Rex Harrison at number two in Friday's 4-3 loss at 20th-ranked Amherst, Babson's duo of Wang and Mendoza earned their second consecutive conference doubles team of the week honor on Monday.
• Mendoza's 24 doubles wins have already surpassed the Beavers' single-season record of 22 set by Merson last season, while Wang equaled the mark with Friday's win.
DOWN TO THE WIRE
• Entering the final week of the regular season, Babson, MIT and Springfield are all unbeaten in NEWMAC play and have secured a spot in next week's five-team conference tournament.
• The Beavers are seeking their second consecutive regular season conference title and third since 2023, MIT claimed its last regular season title in 2024 and Springfield must beat both Babson and the Engineers to capture its first regular season crown.
