Softball Opens its Home Slate with a Doubleheader Against Framingham State on Tuesday

SERIES HISTORY

•    Babson is 19-7 all-time against Framingham State in a series that dates back to 1988.
•    The Beavers have won 18 of the last 20 games between the teams and swept the 2024 doubleheader with a pair of one-run victories over the Rams. 
•    The Green and White is 6-1 at home versus Framingham State dating back to the 2017 NCAA Tournament. 
•    Four of the last five games between the teams have been decided by either one or two runs. 

LAST MEETING
•    Caroline Taylor '24 sliced a single down the left field line to bring home two runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Beavers rallied for a 3-2 win over Framingham State on April 9, 2024, in Babson Park. 
•    Michaela Russell M'24 went 2-for-3 with a run scored, Cassidy Musco M'24 had an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh and Moira O'Reilly '24 M'25 struck out 11 in a complete-game effort for Babson, which scored all three of its runs in the final inning with two outs. 
•    Makayla Rooney went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Gwendolyn Carpenter singled twice, had a stolen base and scored once for the Rams, who were blanked 1-0 by Babson in the opening game of the twin bill. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    Babson (7-9) has dropped three of its last four games after suffering a 3-2 loss in the nightcap of Sunday's doubleheader at Smith. 
•    Junior Emily Walsh and sophomore Maddy DeLong both had two hits, sophomore Belle DiCampello tied the game with a two-out RBI single in the top of the seventh, and junior Katie Vlacich allowed two earned runs over 6.1 innings for the Beavers, who made all three of their errors in the bottom of the seventh. 
•    Walsh is batting .358 with five extra-base hits, eight RBI and 13 runs scored, junior Lexi Sealey is hitting .327 with eight extra-base hits, eight runs batted in and six runs scored, and DiCampello checks in at .327 with three doubles, two triples, a team-high 10 RBI and two runs scored. 
•    First-year Anna Ziccardi is 3-1 with a 1.65 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 29.2 innings, Sealey is 2-0 with two saves and a 3.50 earned run average in 20.0 innings over seven appearances, and first-year Anna Topel is 2-4 with a 4.34 ERA in 30.2 innings over seven starts. 

SCOUTING THE RAMS
•    Framingham State (5-9) has won four of its last five games after edging Anna Maria 6-5 in game two to earn a split of Sunday's doubleheader. 
•    Ava Gray hit a three-run homer in the third inning, Mikayla Yuricheck and Eliza Carignan both singled twice and drove in a run, and Ellie Etemad-Gilbertson was 2-for-2 with two runs scored for the Rams, who got five strikeouts over 7.0 innings from Peyton Farris. 
•    Etemad-Gilbertson is batting .429 with two triples, eight RBI and 16 runs scored, Carignan is hitting .385 with two homers, two doubles, 12 RBI and 10 runs scored, and Amanda Roche owns a .343 average to go along with four doubles, one home run, and 12 RBI in 14 starts. 
•    Audrey Gauthier is 2-5 with a 2.93 ERA and 38 strikeouts against 34 walks in 42.2 innings pitched, while Farris is 2-3 with a 6.50 earned run average in 28.0 innings of work on the year. 

HOME SWEET HOME
•    The Beavers went 10-3 at Alumni Field last spring and closed the year by winning three straight and five of their last six contests. 
•    Since the start of the 2024 campaign, Babson is 22-7 at home, which includes a 5-2 record against non-conference foes. 
•    The Green and White also finished 3-2 in one-run games at Alumni Field in 2025. 

STREAKING INTO THE WEEK
•    Walsh enters Tuesday's twin bill riding a six-game hitting streak, while DeLong has at least one knock in each of her last three starts. 
•    Junior Devin McCall has reached base safely in five consecutive games and Sealey has gotten on base in all four games since the Beavers returned from Florida. 
•    Vlacich has allowed two earned runs or fewer while recording at least three strikeouts in each of her last four starts. 

BABSON TRENDS
•    The Beavers turned eight double players over their first 12 games of the season, which is already two more than all of the 2025 campaign. 
•    Babson has at least one double in four straight games and has finished with multiple extra-base hits in eight of 16 contests this spring. 
•    Walsh is batting .444 (8-for-18) with runners in scoring position and leads the team with eight two-out RBI.
•    DiCampello is 6-for-17 (.353) with runners in scoring position, has six two-out RBI and leads the Green and White with three multi-RBI games. 
•    The Beavers' pitching staff has allowed just three home runs this season and none over the last nine games. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    Babson is 5-1 this season when scoring the first run of the game. 
•    The Beavers are 6-0 this season and 102-7 going back to 2021 when leading after five innings. 
•    The Green and White is 3-3 this spring in games decided by one or two runs. 
•    Babson is 5-1 when recording more hits than its opponents.
