MARLBOROUGH, Mass.— The nationally-ranked Babson College women's lacrosse team received both of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) weekly honors on Monday as senior Lilly Bedard (Jupiter, Fla.) was named the Offensive Player of the Week and sophomore Courtney Laden (Wilmette, Ill.) was selected the Defensive Player of the Week.

Bedard produced seven goals and seven assists for 14 points as Babson went 2-1 with a pair of league wins last week. She scored a season-high four goals and added two assists for six points in Wednesday's 18-3 win over Wellesley and followed it up with three goals and career highs of four assists and seven points, all in the first half, as the Beavers beat Smith 16-8 on Saturday. Bedard capped the week by extending her points streak to eight games in a loss to No. 1/1 Middlebury.

A four-year attacker for the Beavers, Bedard is enjoying a career year this spring, notching 15 goals and leading the team with 17 assists and 32 points. She ranks fifth in the NEWMAC in assists and 10th with 4.0 points per game. She has tallied at least one assist in all eight games and at least three points in six of the eight outings.

Laden finished the week with 10 draw controls, five ground balls and three caused turnovers in a 2-1 week for Babson. She recorded five draw controls and two ground balls in Wednesday's 18-3 win over Wellesley, contributed four draw controls, three caused turnovers and two ground balls in Saturday's 16-8 victory over Smith and chipped in with one ground ball and one draw control in Sunday's loss to No. 1/1 Middlebury.

A transfer from the University of Delaware, Laden has started all eight games and filled up the stat sheet this spring. She has totaled 27 draw controls, 15 caused turnovers and 16 ground balls, leading the team and ranking among the NEWMAC leaders in all three categories, while chipping in with six goals. She has at least one draw control and one ground ball in all eight of her games and at least one caused turnover in six of her eight outings.

The Beavers (5-3, 2-1 NEWMAC) play a pair of conference games this week, beginning Wednesday at Emerson at 6 p.m. in Boston.
