CLAREMONT, Calif.—The 11th-ranked Babson College men's tennis team opened its trip to southern California with a pair of victories on Wednesday. The Beavers started with a 6-1 win over Whitman College and then defeated Colorado College, 5-2.
Babson, which has won five of its first six matches this spring, improves to 7-1 on the season. Whitman slips to 8-3 with the loss and Colorado College had its four-match winning streak snapped and is now 4-2 on the year.

Mendoza won the opening set before dropping a 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 decision to Dominik Kaminski of Colorado College at number one, while Batlanki suffered a three-set loss to Lennart Lehmitz at number three.
Babson returns to action on Friday when it faces No. 2 Chicago in the opening round of the Stag-Hen Invitational in Claremont, Calif.
