WHAT TO KNOW
• The Babson softball team begins the 2026 season with 12 games over eight days at The Spring Games in Clermont, Fla., starting on Saturday.
• The Beavers will face a pair of nationally-ranked opponents and teams from 12 different conferences during its trip.
SERIES HISTORY
vs. Dominican (Ill.): first meeting
vs. Wesleyan: Babson is 3-6 all-time against the Cardinals in a series that dates back to 1998, and suffered a 6-1 loss last March in Florida snapping its two-game win streak in the series.
vs. Geneseo: The Beavers are 4-2 all-time versus the Knights and have won two straight games in the series, including a 13-7 victory in 2024 in Florida.
vs. Wisconsin-Whitewater: Babson is 0-1 in the all-time series after suffering 1-0 loss to the Warhawks back in 2011.
vs. Salem State: first meeting
vs. Plymouth State: The Beavers are 6-1 all-time in a series that dates back to 2000 but suffered a 5-4 eight-inning loss to the Panthers in 2024.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Led by second-year head coach
Tori Roche '20, Babson (0-0) returns five players that started at least 36 games and 13 players in all from a team that finished 26-15 overall last season.
• Senior
Sophia Pak put together the best season of her career hitting .481 with five extra-base hits, 24 RBI and 22 runs scored to go along with a .531 on-base percentage on the way to earning first-team all-conference and all-region honors, while sophomore
Belle DiCampello batted 2.93 with five doubles, a home run, 21 RBI and 18 runs scored.
• Junior
Emily Walsh batted .286 with a team-high nine doubles, 16 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 23 runs scored, classmate
Charlotte Raymond tied for second on the team with six extra-base hits (4 2B, 2 HR), and fellow junior
Ruby Madia led the team with three homers and was second on the team with a .511 slugging percentage in 21 games last spring.
• Although the Beavers must replace a pair of all-region pitchers, junior
Katie Vlacich went 4-2 with a 2.79 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 37.2 innings and one shutout in 2025.
SCOUTING DOMINICAN
• The Stars (2-8) have dropped four of their first six games in Florida and will conclude their trip on Saturday against Babson.
• Sara Cornell is batting .417 with three extra-base hits, three RBI and five runs scored, Isabella Olmos is hitting .364 with two triples, a home run, four RBI, four stolen bases and four runs scored, and Ryley Davis boasts a .300 average to go along with two extra-base hits, two runs batted in and two runs scored.
• Hannah Richards (1-3) boasts a 0.50 ERA and a 0.86 WHIP to go along with 11 strikeouts in 14.0 innings pitched, while Liberty Rivard is 1-3 with a 4.20 earned run average and has allowed nine extra-base hits in 26.2 innings of work.
SCOUTING WESLEYAN
• The Cardinals (3-1), who return 16 players from a team that went 29-12 and reached the NESCAC Tournament final last season, have won three straight after dropping their season opener in Florida on Tuesday.
• Waverly Smart is 5-for-9 (.556) with two RBI and four runs scored, Whitney Gigante is batting .500 (5-for-10) with a double and four RBI, Molly Lennon is 7-for-15 at the plate (.467) with a double, two RBI and four runs scored, and Cat Palmer is hitting .357 over the first four games with a team-high five runs batted in.
• Jaclyn Lees, who went 14-2 with a 1.50 ERA last spring, is 1-1 with a 3.87 earned run average over 12.2 innings, while Ella DeCresenzo (0-0) owns a 2.63 earned run average over 8.0 innings in two appearances.
SCOUTING GENESEO
• The Knights (0-0) bring back six of their top seven hitters and two of their top three pitchers from a team that went 28-12 last season.
• Molly Griffin batted .490 with 12 doubles, 28 RBI and 31 runs scored, Brooke Fraas hit .374 with eight doubles, four triples, two homers, 31 RBI and a team-high 42 runs scored, and Ray Schumacher finished the year with a .350 average to go along with 13 doubles, five home runs, 32 runs batted in and 35 runs scored.
• Gabriella Petroski went 14-3 with a 3.48 earned run average and three shutouts over 94.2 innings pitched, while Mikayla Bucci was 94-2 with a 4.98 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 32.1 innings of work in 2025.
SCOUTING WISCONSIN-WHITEWATER
• The 13th-ranked Warhawks (2-2) return six players that started at least 30 games and their top three pitchers from a team that went 39-8 and advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals in 2025.
• Bella Eggert batted .394 with three extra-base hits, nine RBI and 39 runs scored, Emma Giese hit .326 with two homers, 10 doubles, 23 RBI and 31 runs scored, and Grace Wickman finished the year with a .314 average go along with five home runs, 14 doubles, a team-high 46 RBI and 27 runs scored.
• Brooke Hock was 7-2 with a 1.73 ERA and eight saves in 68.2 innings pitched, Josie Hammen went 18-3 with a 2.38 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP and 72 strikeouts in 117.2 innings of work, and Madi DeBennette posted an 8-2 record to go along with a 3.22 ERA in 54.1 innings.
SCOUTING SALEM STATE
• The Vikings (0-0) return seven players that started at least 22 games and their top three pitchers from a team that finished 18-20 in 2025.
• Tara Perryman batted .437 with seven doubles, 21 RBI and 13 runs scored, Allison Frost hit .322 with two doubles, nine RBI, 42 stolen bases and 35 runs scored, and Samantha Gaona-Sullivan finished the year with a .302 average to go along with four extra-base hits, 23 RBI, 13 stolen bases and 28 runs scored.
• Gracie Martineau went 10-7 with a 4.35 ERA and three shutouts in 95.0 innings, Alanis Toledano (4-5) had a 4.18 earned run average to go along with a team-high 41 strikeouts in 60.1 innings pitched, and Sula Roberge was 3-4 with a 3.22 ERA in 45.2 innings of work.
SCOUTING PLYMOUTH STATE
• The Panthers return six players that started at least 23 games and one of their top pitchers from a team that went 28-16 and advanced to the Little East Conference Tournament final last season.
• Kenzie Bessette batted .485 with 10 doubles, four triples, 23, RBI, 38 stolen bases and 42 runs scored, Avery Couch hit .308 with seven doubles, six homers and 39 runs batted in, and Emily Bessette ended the year with a .291 average to go along with five doubles, three triples, 25 RBI and 30 runs scored.
• Emily Antrim went 9-8 with a 2.84 earned run average and 50 strikeouts in a team-high 115.2 innings pitched, while Abbey Nezuch was 3-1 with a 3.92 ERA in 25.0 innings in 2025.
LEADER OF THE PAK
• Pak put together one of the best offensive seasons in program history in 2025, which included matching the single-season record of 63 hits set by Andrea Cartullo '07 in 2006 and matched by both Catie Funk '13 in 2013 and
Sara Moore '25 in 2023.
• Her .481 batting average ranks third in single-season history and the highest by any Babson player since 1994, and her .531 on-base percentage is also third in single-season history and the best since 2019.
BEAVER BITES
• Pak, who was second on the team with 17 multi-hit games in 2025, enters the season riding a 15-game hitting streak.
• DiCampello and Walsh were tied for third on the team with eight multi-hit games last season, and Walsh was tied for first on the squad with five multi-RBI games.
• Sophomore
Maddy DeLong started all 41 games as a rookie in the infield and was one of six players with at least five extra-base hits while tying for the team lead with 15 walks in 2025.
• Over her first two seasons, Vlacich is 6-2 with a 2.18 ERA with 40 strikeouts in 51.1 innings pitched in Florida.
• Over the last two years in Florida, Walsh is batting .290 with four doubles, 15 RBI and 15 runs scored, while Madia is hitting .289 with a home run, two doubles and six runs batted in.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers were 23-3 last spring when scoring at least three runs.
• Babson went 11-10 in games decided by either one or two runs in 2025.
• The Green and White was 16-1 last year when leading after six innings.
• The Beavers were 22-6 when scoring the first run of the game and 23-7 when outhitting their opponents a season ago.
