WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.—Babson College sophomore
Katie Yang (Orlando, Fla.) was selected as the Colonial Women's Golf Conference (CWGC) Golfer of the Week on Thursday.
Yang shot 77-73 to tie for sixth place with a 36-hole total of 8-over 150 to help Babson finish in a tie for fourth against a strong field at the Williams Invitational last weekend. Her 73 on day two was the lowest score of her career and the best by any Babson player in rounds at Taconic Golf Club.
Yang tied for first in the field in par-4 scoring a 2-over and was one of just three competitors in the 74-player field to avoid a double-bogey in the tournament.
Yang, who earned the second CWGC Golfer of the Week honor of her career, leads the Beavers with a 75.40 stroke average through five rounds on the year and owns a pair of top-11 finishes in two 36-hole events.
No. 21 Babson returns to action when it travels to Rome Country Club in Rome, N.Y., for the Hamilton Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
