SERIES HISTORY
• Wellesley has dominated the head-to-head series against the Beavers, winning all 13 meets between the two from 2008 to 2025.
• Last year's eight-point Wellesley win over Babson was the closest margin of victory since the Blue won 162-124 in 2009.
• The Blue finished sixth at last year's New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championships with 435 points while the Beavers were seventh with 416.
LAST SEASON'S MEET
• Babson took first place in six events and finished runner-up in 11 races but came up short in a 146-138 defeat to Wellesley on February 1, 2025, inside Chandler Pool.

Kendall Garvey '25 led the Beavers with a pair of victories (1000 freestyle, 500 free). Sophomore
Samantha Gilbert (200 free) and
Julia Netishen (50 free) and
Anya Pelshaw M'25 (100 fly) also produced individual first-place showings for the Beavers, and the team of Gilbert,
Audrey Daniels '25, junior
Sylvie Racicot, and Netishen finished the meet with a first place in the 200 free relay.
• Gilbert also took second in the 100 fly, Netishen was runner-up in the 100 free, and Pelshaw brought home second place in the 100 breast. Sophomores
Tuana Turhan (200 fly, 400 IM) and
Marta Gershanok (100 back, 200 back) each earned a pair of second place finishes for the Green and White, and Racicot was second in the 50 free and
Elina Sung '25 finished second in the one-meter diving.
ABOUT THE BEAVERS
• The Beavers (6-3-1) are coming off a 163-62 triumph over Bridgewater State in the home finale last Saturday inside Morse Pool, winning 11 of the 13 events.
• Turhan was the winner of the 200 free and the 500 free to lead the Green and White. She also swam the anchor leg of the 200 free relay for a team that included senior
Sophia Sznewajs, first-year
Lakshmi Prasanth and Gershanok. The Beavers swept the freestyle events as first-year
AJ Hallbert won the 50, classmate
Middy Hinckley took the 100, and Gilbert finished first in the 1000.
• Babson also brought home first place in four 200-yard races, as Netishen won the 200 IM, Gershanok captured the 200 butterfly, first-year
Becky Hwang finished first in the 200 back, and sophomore
Hailey Cronan touched the wall first in the 200 breaststroke.
• The Green and White won the first relay event as Hwang, Cronan, and first-years
Finn Bergquist and
Leila Evans took the 200 medley relay.
ABOUT THE BLUE
• Wellesley (11-1) has won its last seven meets, including a 157-141 victory over Smith and a 212-84 verdict over Springfield last Saturday in a tri-meet in Northampton, Mass.
• First-year Alexis Kung paced the Blue with three individual victories, winning the 50 free as well as the 100 and 200 back. She also helped Wellesley's 200 medley relay team, which included seniors Tracey Liu and Kavita Sekhon and first-years Lucy Choe and Kung, setting a pool record with a time of 1:49.57.
• Sekhon finished first in the 100 and 200 breaststroke while first-year Lana Richard registered a victory in the 200 IM. First-year Jessica Zhao touched the wall first in the 100 free and classmate Hannah Machleidt claimed the 1000 free champion.
• The Blue have also earned victories this season over Wheaton, Bentley, Simmons, Merrimack, Mount Holyoke, WPI, Felician, and Adelphi.
WINNING SEASONS
• The Beavers, who finished 8-5 in dual meets last season, have secured their second straight winning season and their third since 1993-94.
• The Green and White have clinched back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 1990-91 and 1991-92.
BEAVER BITES
• Gilbert has moved into the top 10 in program history in the 1,000 Freestyle with her time of 11:37.10 against Bridgewater State. She has also posted a top-10 time this winter in the 500 free, 1000 free, and 100 IM.
• Other Beavers who have registered top 10 times (or moved up) this season include Racicot (50 free, 100 free), Netishen (100 free), Cronan (100 free, 200 free), Hinckley (500 free, 1000 free, 1650 free), Hwang (100 back, 200 back), Turhan (200 fly, 400 IM), and Gershanok (200 IM).

• Babson will conclude its dual meet schedule at Springfield on February 7.
