BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College junior
Seamus Rooney (Bay Shore, N.Y.) earned an honorable mention nod when USA Lacrosse Magazine announced its 2026 Division III Preseason All-Americans on Tuesday.
Rooney, who was among 99 players recognized by USA Lacrosse Magazine, is coming off a terrific 2025 campaign that saw him produce 35 goals and 28 assists for a team-high 63 points over 20 games. He finished second on the team with four man-up tallies, scored three or more goals six times and led the Beavers in assists while earning All-New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) first-team honors and New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) third-team accolades.
The 2024 NEWMAC Co-Rookie of the Year, Rooney has 66 goals and 39 assists for 105 points in 34 contests over his first two seasons. He has totaled five or more points 15 times and has at least one point in 32 of 34 career games
Babson, which went 14-6 while claiming its third straight NEWMAC title and advancing to its third consecutive NCAA Tournament last spring, opens the 2025 campaign on Saturday, February 14, when it hosts Wentworth on MacDowell Field at 1 p.m.
