Babson's Dubrovsky Named Head Men's Tennis Coach at Brandeis

BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College associate head men's and women's tennis coach Alan Dubrovksy was hired to lead the men's tennis program at nearby Brandeis University late last week.

Dubrovsky, who was selected as both the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III and Northeast Region Assistant Men's Tennis Coach of the Year last season, helped the Beavers to a historic 2024-25 campaign. Under the tutelage of Dubrovsky and head coach Michael Kopelman, Babson set a new single-season program record with 22 wins while advancing to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals for the first time in school history.

The Beavers avenged New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament final losses to MIT in 2023 and 2024 by defeating the Engineers in the postseason for the first time to punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2021. From there, Babson defeated Stevens 4-0 and eighth-ranked Bowdoin 4-3 to capture the Brunswick Regional before falling to No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the national quarterfinals, 4-1.

In his three seasons at Babson, the men posted an overall record of 53-15 while claiming a pair of NEWMAC regular season titles.

In addition to his work with the men's program, Dubrovsky helped the Babson women rise to national prominence over the last three seasons. Highlighting the Beavers' achievements was the duo of Olivia Soffer '25 and Matia Cristiani '26 winning back-to-back NCAA Doubles championships in 2024 and 2025 after advancing to the national title match in 2023.

Soffer, who reached the NCAA singles final in 2023, and Cristiani earned All-America honors in both singles and doubles in 2023, 2024, 2025, and finished 81-8 while playing alongside each other in doubles.

As a team, the Green and White advanced to three straight NEWMAC Tournament finals, reached the program's first NCAA Tournament regional final in 2023, and advanced to the second round of national tournament back in May. Overall, the Beavers went 45-16 in Dubrovsky's three years on staff.

Dubrovsky, who arrived in Babson Park in August 2022, helped both the Beavers' men's and women's programs achieve great success over the last three seasons, culminating with Olivia Soffer '25 and Matia Cristiani '26 capturing their second consecutive NCAA Division III Doubles national championship back in May.

"We've celebrated so many accomplishments over the last few years and Alan's hard work and dedication to both the men's and women's programs played a major role in our success," commented Kopelman. "While we're sad to see him go, we're excited that he's earned the opportunity to be the next head men's tennis coach at Brandeis, and know that he'll continue to achieve great things in the next chapter of his career."

Dubrovsky takes over a Brandeis program that went 9-8 overall and finished in seventh place at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Tournament back in April.
