Hitchcock Field | Amherst, Mass.

SERIES HISTORY

•    Babson is 5-16-7 all-time against Amherst in a series that dates back to 1991.
•    The Beavers and Mammoths will meet for just the sixth time since 2003 on Wednesday afternoon.
•    The Green and White, which picked up its first win in the series since 1994 in its last visit to Amherst two seasons ago, dropped four consecutive matches in the series between 2003-22.

LAST MEETING
•    Babson senior Joao Araujo and Amherst's Niall Murphy traded goals over the final 10 minutes as the Beavers and Mammoths battled to a 1-1 draw on September 24, 2024, in Babson Park.
•    Amherst's Trey Sheppard made a diving save on Araujo's penalty kick with 9:31 remaining before he put away his own rebound to open the scoring only to see Murphy score the equalizer in the 84th minute.
•    Walker White '25 made two saves for the Green and White, while Sheppard stopped five shots for the Mammoths, who attempted all 10 corner kicks in the match.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    No. 12 Babson (4-2-2) has dropped back-to-back games for the first time in more than two years after suffering a 2-1 loss to unbeaten Brandeis on Saturday.
•    Junior Will Lloyd scored his first goal of the season with a volley into the upper corner in the 31st minute before the Judges responded with a pair of second-half goals to snap the Beavers' 22-game home unbeaten streak.
•    Junior Alexander Yablonovskiy (3-1-7) and first-year Connor Hanrahan (3-0-6) are tied for the team lead in goals, rookie Will Boecher (2-2-6) leads the squad in assists and senior James Modiano (2-0-4) is one of four players with a game-winning goal.
•    Sophomore goalkeeper JB Montague is 3-0 with a 0.86 goals against average and a .842 save percentage in four starts, while senior Derek Polanco (1-2-2) owns a 1.11 goals against average and a .722 save percentage in five appearances.

SCOUTING THE MAMMOTHS
•    No. 16 Amherst (3-0-3), which captured the program second national title last December, extended its unbeaten streak to 16 matches with a 0-0 draw at No. 8 Middlebury on Saturday.
•    Sheppard made one save as the Mammoths kept their third consecutive clean sheet in a game that featured 30 fouls and eight yellow cards.
•    Leo Wilensky (3-0-6), Ioannis Hadjiyiannis (2-0-4) and Mohammed Nuhu (2-0-4) have combined to score seven of the team's 10 goals, while Kavi Krishnan leads the squad with two assists.
•    Sheppard (1-0-3) has stopped all nine shots he has faced and owns three shutouts in four starts for an Amherst side that has conceded just one goal over its first six contests.

BEAVERS JOIN THE 700 CLUB
•    Last Sunday's 1-0 victory over Oglethorpe was the 700th in the history of the Babson men's soccer program.
•    Now in their 71st season, the Beavers went 4-4-1 during the inaugural 1955 campaign under head coach Dick Thomas and are 700-333-128 for an all-time winning percentage of .658.
•    The Green and White recorded its first winning season (11-3-0) in 1969 under legendary head coach Bob Hartwell, who would go on to lead the program to the first of three Division III national championships by going 17-0-1 in 1975.
•    Head coach Jon Anderson '75, who is now in his 40th season, has amassed the last 475 of Babson's 700 wins.

BEAVERS VS. THE NESCAC
•    Amherst is the second of three NESCAC foes on Babson's regular season schedule along with Wesleyan and Tufts. The Green and White defeated the Cardinals 1-0 back on September 6 and host the Jumbos on September 30.
•    The Beavers are 3-2-5 against NESCAC opponents since 2023, which includes a dramatic last-second win at Amherst two years ago.

BEAVER BITES
•    Despite last week's 1-0 loss at unbeaten Roger Williams, the Beavers are 11-3-10 away from home going back to September 14, 2023.
•    Babson has started 21 different players over its first eight matches this fall with only Lloyd, sophomore Henry Bacon and first-year Blake Miller being part of the starting XI in every game.
•    The Green and White has scored eight of its 11 goals this season after halftime, five of which have come in the 74th minute or later.
