Clark, Rooney Collect NEILA All-New England Honors

BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College graduate student Tripp Clark (Byfield, Mass.) and sophomore Seamus Rooney (Bay Shore, N.Y.) were recognized when the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) announced its All-New England teams on Friday afternoon.

Clark was one of three defenders named to the second team, while Rooney garnered third-team accolades at attack for the Beavers.

An All-New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) first-team and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America third-team selection, Clark picked up a career-high 69 ground balls to go along with a team-high 32 caused turnovers in 17 starts this past season. He recorded three or more caused turnovers seven times and scooped up at least six ground ball on six occasions this spring in addition to scoring four goals and dishing out two assists for six points.

Clark was at his best in four postseason games, picking up 24 ground balls and adding 12 caused turnovers as the Green and White captured its third straight New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championship before advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

A starter in all but one of his 83 career games, Clark totaled 212 ground balls and 108 caused turnovers in four seasons at St. Lawrence University and one at Babson.

The 2024 NEWMAC Rookie of the Year and a first-team all-conference honoree this spring, Rooney earned NEILA all-region recognition for the first time after leading the Beavers in scoring with 35 goals and 28 assists for 63 points in 20 games. He finished with three or more goals in six contests and had at least one point in every outing. Rooney also set a career-high with five assists in last week's first round win over Western Connecticut State and totaled six goals and six assists for 12 points in two NCAA Tournament games.

Rooney's 63 points this spring rank eighth on Babson's single-season list and he totaled 66 goals and 39 assists for 105 points in the first 34 games of his career.

The Beavers captured their third consecutive NEWMAC Tournament championship and finished the year at 14-6 overall after advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
