Rehal Finishes First in the High Jump, Kelly Breaks Hammer Record to Highlight Big Day for Women's Track & Field at the Sean Collier Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—The Babson College women's track & field team recorded seven top-five finishes while setting one school record and achieving a pair of regional championship qualifying marks at the Sean Collier Invitational hosted by MIT on Saturday afternoon.

First-year Amrit Rehal (Alpharetta, Ga.) posted the Beavers' top individual finish of the day by coming in first with a mark of 5-feet, 4.25-inches in the high jump, which was just shy of her school record of 5-feet, 5-inches set back in March. Junior Trista Sicard (Mansfield, Mass.) also fell just short of her top mark of the season in the triple jump as she placed third with a leap of 35-feet, 5.75-inches.

The Beavers' top performance in the throws came from first-year Brigid Kelly (Sandwich, Mass.), who set a new school record with a throw of 111-feet, 9-inches in the hammer.

Junior Brooke Jankowski (Derry, N.H.) came in fourth with a time of 15.13 to lead a trio of top-10 finishers in the 100-meter hurdles. First-year Victoria Hart (Greenwich, Conn.) placed seventh with a season-best time of 15.62 and junior Julia Pike (Mansfield, Mass.) was a half-second behind her in 10th place with a time of 16.12. Both Jankowski and Pike joined Hart, who qualified earlier this spring, for the Division III New England Championships in May.

Junior Robyn Wilkes (Atlanta, Ga.) put together a terrific Saturday with a trio of top finishes. She came in fifth with a season-best time of 25.87 in the 200 meters and also posted a season-best time of 12.51 on the way to placing sixth and qualifying for the Division III New England Championships in the 100-meter dash. Additionally, Wilkes teamed with senior Angela Hagstrom (Portsmouth, N.H.), sophomore Reese Gallant (West Newbury, Mass.) and Hart to record a third-place result with a season-best time of 49.98 in the 4x100-meter relay.

Sophomore Colleen Corman (Quaker Hill, Conn.) finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.96, while first-year Kate Henderson (Basking Ridge, N.J.) placed 13th with a mark of 96-feet in the javelin. Hagstrom came in 14th in the 200 meters with a season-best time of 27.20 and 16th in the 400 meters with a time of 1:02.92, which was 0.17 seconds behind junior Chloe Clifford (Marshfield, Mass.), who was 15th overall.

Gallant came in 17th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.37, while first-year Sophia Draxler (Montclair, N.J.) finished 19th with a time of 2:30.66 in the 800 meters.

Babson will begin postseason competition at the NEWMAC Championships hosted by Mount Holyoke next Friday and Saturday in South Hadley, Mass.
