NEW LONDON, Conn.—Sophomore
Maddie Stoltz (Somers, Conn.) recorded a pair of top-10 finishes in the heptathlon to highlight day one for the Babson College women's track & field team at the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College.
Stoltz finished seventh with a season-best time of 18.56 the 100-meter hurdles to begin the day and added a seventh-place showing with a mark of 23-feet, 9-inches in the shot put, and is currently 10th overall with 1575 points through four events. She came in 11th in the high jump by clearing 4-feet, 0.50-inches and also was 11th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.42.
First-year
Brigid Kelly (Sandwich, Mass.) placed 13th in the hammer throw with a season-best mark of 104-feet that currently ranks third in school history. Junior
Alexandra Kirkpatrick (Middleboro, Mass.) finished 19th in the 10,000-meter run with a career-best time of 41:09.19, while classmate
Chloe Clifford (Marshfield, Mass.) came in 20th in the 800 meters with a season-best time of 2:25.41.
Sophomore
Ava Newton (Danvers, Mass.) finished with a mark of 67-feet, 1-inch in the hammer throw and first-year
Ariana Van Ormer (Aliquippa, Pa.) crossed the finish line with a time of 2:37.98 in the 800 meters.
Day two of the Silfen Invitational gets underway at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
