NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I.— The Babson College men's track & field team produced a half dozen top-5 finishes and 11 top-10 places on the final day of the Bryant University Black & Gold Invitational Saturday at the Bryant Track and Turf Complex.
The Beavers scored 37 points in the two-day event and finished in ninth place out of 16 scoring teams, including fourth out of the seven Division III programs. Host Bryant topped the team scoring with 129 points, with New Hampshire second with 98 and Amherst finishing third with 86.
Senior 
Julian Ivarra (Plano, Texas) and first-year 
Nick Yacoub (Sharon, Mass.) turned in strong performances in the 5,000 meters to pace the Beavers. Ivarra placed fourth in a time of 14:53.27 and Yacoub was right behind in fifth in 14:57.11, with both meeting the New England Division III Championships qualifying standards.
Sophomores 
Brian Gall (Norwalk, Conn.) and 
Almond Nickerson IV (Darien, Conn.) also posted PRs in the event, finishing in times of  15:25 and 15:42, respectively.
First-year 
Dominic Smith (Aspen, Colo.) had a pair of top-10 finishes, taking third place in the 400 meters in 51.24 seconds and 10th in the 200 meters in 22.91 seconds. Classmate 
Noa Wong (Kaneohe, Hawaii) crossed the line in seventh place in the 400 in 51.54 seconds.
The Green and White had two strong finishers in the 110-meter hurdles as first-year 
Aithan Bezanson (Danvers, Mass.) placed fifth in 15.83 seconds and classmate 
Evan Dang (Fremont, Calif.) was eighth in 16.27 seconds. Fellow first-year 
Jackson Adams (Norwell, Mass.) placed ninth in the 400-meter hurdles in 59.42.
Babson's all-freshman 4x100 relay team of 
Timothy Kelm (Eliot, Maine), Bezanson, Smith and Wong placed fourth in a time of 43.51.
The top performers in field events came from sophomore 
Jordan Wright (Haworth, N.J.) and first-year 
Michael Beauchesne (Halifax, Mass.). Wright finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 39-feet, 8.5-inches, and Beauchesne came in seventh in the high jump with a leap of 5-feet, 10.5 inches.
The Beavers return to action next Saturday at the annual Coast Guard Invitational in New London, Connecticut.
