DiGiovanni Named Field Hockey Region I Player of the Year

NFHCA Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—
The list of post-season honors continued for Babson College senior Caroline DiGiovanni (Harwich, Mass.) when she was selected as the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Region I Player of the Year on Thursday.

DiGiovanni continues in a line that has helped Babson earn the region's top player for the fourth straight season and ninth time since 2005, including Elise Conley '06 (2005), Colleen Kelly '11 (2010), Elizabeth Holmes '16 (2015), Ashley Tango '19 (2016, 2018), Berit Sharrow '25 (2022, 2024) and Brianne McGrath '23 M'24 (2023).

The latest honor for DiGiovanni came after being named NFHCA All-Region First Team on top of New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Offensive Athlete of the Year and First Team All-Conference. She led the NEWMAC in scoring with a career-high 25 goals and 50 points and ranked 16th in Division III in goals per game (1.04) and 28th in points per game (2.08). The Babson senior produced a career-best seven-game goal-scoring streak and five multi-goal outings, including a hat trick against Clark and a career-high four goals in a win over the University of New England. She also led the NEWMAC with eight game-winning scores.

A veteran of 86 career games with 68 starts, DiGiovanni scored 59 goals with five assists for 123 points. She ranks tied for fourth on the Babson all-time single-season goals list, tied for third on the all-time career goals list, and ninth on the career points list. She was named the Most Outstanding Player in this year's NEWMAC Tournament and was a member of the NFHCA Senior Team.

DiGiovanni was a leader of a Babson team that finished 22-2 overall this fall after advancing to the NCAA Tournament semifinals for the second time in three years and third time since 2017. The Beavers captured their 10th straight NEWMAC regular season title and fifth consecutive tournament crown.
