No. 3 Field Hockey Selected as Host for NCAA Tournament Second and Third Rounds

BABSON PARK, Mass.—After capturing its fifth consecutive New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament championship on Saturday afternoon, No. 3 Babson College was selected as one of four second and third round regional hosts when the NCAA announced its Division III Championship bracket on Sunday night.

The Beavers (20-1), who defeated No. 24 WPI 1-0 in Saturday's conference final, are making their sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and were chosen as a regional host for the fourth time in the last five seasons. The Green and White received one of four first-round byes and will host either No. 15 Bowdoin College (9-7) or the University of Scranton (17-3) on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The matchup for Saturday's other second round contest, which is set for 2 p.m., will be determined on Wednesday as No. 7 Wesleyan University (14-4) hosts Marywood College (11-9), while No. 11 Hamilton College (11-5) faces No. 22 SUNY Geneseo (20-1). The winners of Saturday's second round matches will meet in the regional final on Sunday at 1 p.m., with a spot in the Division III Final Four in Hartford Conn., on the line.

Babson, which enters the NCAA Tournament riding a 16-game winning streak, reached the second round of last year's championship after advancing to the national semifinals in 2023 and the quarterfinals in both 2021 and 2022. The Beavers also enter the national tournament riding a 21-game home winning streak that currently ranks second in Division III.
