WHAT TO KNOW
• Top-seeded and third-ranked nationally Babson will seek its fifth consecutive NEWMAC title on Saturday when it hosts second-seeded and No. 24 WPI in the tournament final at MacDowell Field.
• Playing in their sixth straight championship game, the Beavers have won their last nine NEWMAC Tournament games since being upset by MIT in overtime in the 2019 title game in Babson Park, 3-2.
• WPI, which won four NEW 8 conference championships in five years from 1988-92, will play in the NEWMAC title game for the first time since the conference was established in 1998.
SERIES HISTORY
• The Beavers have a 29-15 advantage over WPI in the all-time series that dates back to 1985.
• Babson has won 14 in a row over the Engineers since a 3-2 loss in Worcester in 2011.
• The Green and White have outscored WPI 46-5 in those 14 wins with nine shutouts.
POSTSEASON HISTORY
• The Beavers and Engineers will meet in the postseason for just the fourth time and the third time in the NEWMAC Tourney, with Babson winning each of the first three.
• The Green and White defeated WPI in the 2021 NEWMAC semifinals, 5-0, and the 2006 quarterfinals, 3-1, both games in Babson Park.
• The first postseason field hockey meeting between the two schools was a 2-0 Babson victory over WPI in the 1993 NEW 8 conference semifinals.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Top-seeded and No. 3 Babson (19-1, 9-0 NEWMAC) earned a spot in the final with a 2-0 victory over fourth-seeded Springfield on Thursday evening at MacDowell Field, extending its winning streak to 15 games.

• Tibbals (0.87 GAA, .781 sv. pct, 57 saves) has started 19 straight games between the pipes and allowed one goal or fewer 16 times with seven shutouts. The rookie netminder had a league-leading 0.38 GAA in conference regular season games, allowing just three goals in nine outings.
SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
• Second-seeded and No. 24 WPI (14-4, 8-1 NEWMAC) punched a ticket to its first NEWMAC title game with a 3-1 triumph over third-seeded and defending runner-up MIT on Thursday afternoon in Worcester.
• Senior Abbey Powers scored twice in the opening quarter and junior Chloe Luongo added a key insurance tally in the fourth. Seniors Eve Martineau and Arie Lang each produced assists and Lakin made two saves in goal in the win.
• Graduate student Lauren Meinhold (10-5-25) has two multi-goal outings and is tied for ninth in the NEWMAC in goals, Powers (9-3-21) has three goals in her last two games, and senior Leah Uglevich (8-2-18) is third on the team in scoring, Lang (4-4-12) is second on the team in assists, and sophomore Madeline Chase has a team-high three defensive saves.
• Lakin (0.95 GAA, .862 sv. pct, 106 saves) has started all 18 games in goal for the Engineers and leads the league in save percentage and ranks second in goals against average and shutouts (6).
BABSON IN THE POST-SEASON
• The Beavers earned the top seed in the NEWMAC Tournament for the 10th consecutive season going back to 2015.
• Babson claimed the 2010, 2016, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 NEWMAC Tournament championships and has played in the title game seven times in eight seasons going back to 2016.
• The Beavers, who are 5-2 in championship games going back to 2016, have played their last 19 conference playoff games at home since 2015.

• Babson owns a 76-game NEWMAC regular season winning streak going back to 2015.
• The Green and White have won 51 straight games overall vs. NEWMAC opponents since start of the 2021 season.

Caroline DiGiovanni was named NEWMAC Offensive Athlete of the Week for the second time in three weeks on Monday after erupting for six goals in a pair of victories over the University of New England and Wheaton.
• DiGiovanni is the fourth Beaver to earn conference weekly honors twice this season, including Baroni (Offense, 9/2, 10/14), Bonazzoli (Defense, 9/8, 10/20), and Tibbals (Defense, 9/22, 10/14).
HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE
• Babson is 11-0 at home this season and has won 20 in a row at MacDowell Field dating back to last year.
• The Beavers are 36-1 on home turf since the beginning of the 2023 season and have won 60 of its last 65 home games since 2021.
• Fifteen of the last 22 wins and 23 of the last 36 home victories have come by way of the shutout.
CLIMBING THE CHARTS
• DiGiovanni continues to move up on the Babson career scoring lists, as she now ranks fourth on the Babson career goals list with 58, and ninth on the career points list with 121.
• DiGiovanni also climbed to fifth on the Babson single-season goals list with 24, just one shy of the 25 by Morgan Lockwood '14 in 2012.
BEAVER BITES
• The Babson seniors have achieved remarkable success since 2022, registering an overall record of 79-11 (.878), surpassing the seniors of 2019, who went 72-17 (.809) in their four years and approaching the most wins set by last year's seniors of 81-12 (.871).
•The Beavers are 4-1 this season against teams ranked in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association top 25, and are 14-7 against nationally ranked programs since 2023.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• Babson is 8-0 this season in games decided by one goal and has won 26 of 33 games over the past five years in games determined by a single goal.
• The Green and White have won their last 82 games over the past five years when leading at halftime.
• Since the start of the 2021 season, Babson is 89-2 when holding the opponent to no more than one goal. The only losses were 1-0 in overtime at No. 8 Williams in 2024 and 1-0 to No. 4 Johns Hopkins in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals in 2022.
