MARLBOROUGH, Mass.— Babson College senior Timmy O'Toole (Milton, Mass.) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week for the first round of weekly honors this season on Monday afternoon.

A 6'5" guard, O'Toole posted a double-double and grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds to go along with three steals, a game-high two blocked shots and a career-high 26 points as Babson defeated Brandeis 86-82 in overtime on Saturday night. He was one rebound short of a double-double by halftime and came up with a key block on the ensuing possession after giving the Beavers the lead for good in the extra session.

A four-year starter for the Beavers, O'Toole has averaged 6.5 points and 7.1 rebounds in his 75-game career and produced 61 assists, 46 blocked shots and 100 steals while shooting 48.2 percent from the field.

Babson (1-0) is back in action on Tuesday with a non-conference contest at Albertus Magnus at 7 p.m. in New Haven, Conn.
