WATERFORD, Conn.— Sophomore
Sophia Draxler (Montclair, N.J.) and senior
Chloe Clifford (Marshfield, Mass.) led a handful of runners who recorded their career best times as the Babson College women's cross country team finished 13th in the Connecticut College Invitational White race at Harkness Park on Saturday morning.
Draxler finished 45th out of a field of 345 runners in a time of 23:32, nearly a minute faster than her previous best of 24:29 set at last year's race. Clifford crossed the finish line 76th in 23:55, 16 seconds better than last year's performance. Sophomore
Shriya Peddi (Monmouth Junction, N.J.) made her season debut for the Beavers and finished third on the team and 80th overall in a time of 24:01.
First-year
Sophia Nakakura (San Francisco, Calif.) posted a time of 24:59 to place 146th for the Beavers, and senior
Alexandra Kirkpatrick (Middleboro, Mass.) was 163rd in 25:08 to round out the Babson scorers. Junior
Taijah Harvey (Concord, Mass.) turned in a career-best time of 25:13 to finish 169th, and first-year
Ali Meyers (Darien, Conn.) came in 171st in 25:14.
Sophomore
Annabelle Svenson (Montclair, N.J.) crossed the finish line with a time of 26:16; sophomore
Arinana Van Ormer (Aliquippa, Pa.) finished in 27:28, junior
Colleen Corman (Quaker Hill, Conn.) recorded a time of 27:30; and sophomore
Brigid Kelly (Sandwich, Mass.) ran a 28:54.
Babson will return to action on Saturday, November 1, when it competes in the NEWMAC Championship at Highland Park in Attleboro, Mass.
