Five from Women’s Cross Country Named to NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

MARLBOROUGH, Mass.— Five members of the Babson College women's cross country programs were recognized for their hard work and success in the classroom when the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) released its Academic All-Conference team late last week.

Juniors Colleen Corman (Quaker Hill, Conn.) and Taijah Harvey (Concord, Mass.) were both named to the All-Academic squad for the second year in a row, and sophomores Sophia Draxler (Chester, N.J.), Brigid Kelly (Sandwich, Mass.), and Ariana Van Ormer (Aliquippa, Pa.) were tabbed for the first time in their careers.

A business major, Corman competed in five races for the Beavers this season. She posted an average time of 27:46 for 6K races, including her career best times of 27:27 for 6K. She placed 115th at the NEWMAC Championships with a 6K time of 28:06 on November 1.

An Accounting/Sustainablilty major, Harvey competed in all six races for the Beavers this fall. She recorded an average time of 20:49 for 5K and 25:18 for 6K circuits, including career-best time of 25:06 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on September 20. She was Babson's number five number with a time of 25.35 that placed her 68th at the NEWMAC Championships on November 1, and Babson's number six with a 124th-place time of 25:18 at the NCAA East Regional Championships on November 15.

A business major, Draxler competed in five of the six races for the Beavers this season. She posted an average time of 23:49 for the 6K events, including a career-best 23:32 at the Connecticut College Invitational on October 18. She was Babson's top runner in all five races she ran, including the 34th place and time of 24:17 at the NEWMAC Championships on November 1 and the 59th place and 23:33 at the NCAA East Regional Championships on November 15.

An Accounting major, Kelly competed in five races for the Beavers this season. She ran an average 6K time of 29:20, including a career-best time of 28:58 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on September 20. She placed 133rd with a time of 30:09 at the NEWMAC Championships on November 1

A Business Administration major, Van Ormer ran in four of the six races this fall. She registered an average time of 28:03 for the 6K races, including a 27:28 at the Connecticut College Invitational on October 18. She turned in a time of 28:39 to place 121st at the NEWMAC Championships on November 1.

The Beavers placed seventh at the NEWMAC Championship on November 1 with their fourth lowest point total in program history, and came in 17th points at the NCAA East Region Championships on November 15, posting their second lowest point total in program history.

 Academic all-conference honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale after the 2025 spring semester, achieved second year academic status, and been a member of the team for the entire season.
