HOPKINTON, N.H.—The Babson College women's cross country team turned in a strong performance placing third at the Hopkinton XC Festival at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds on Friday afternoon.
The Beavers, who finished as the top Division III squad, totaled 68 points to come in behind only Division II Adelphi (42 points) and Division I Albany (47 points). Saint Anselm (107) and Saint Joseph's Maine (143) rounded out the top five.
Babson's top five finishers on the 5k course were separated by just 24 seconds, led by senior
Chloe Clifford (Marshfield, Mass.), who posted a time of 20:27. Junior
Taijah Harvey (Concord, Mass.) recorded a new personal-best time of 20:49.20 to place 17th, senior
Alexandra Kirkpatrick (Middleborough, Mass.) was less than a second behind her in 18th position, first-year
Ali Meyers (Darien, Conn.) took 19th in a time of 20:50 and classmate
Sophia Nakakura (San Francisco, Calif.) finished 21st with a time of 20:51.
Sophomore
Annabelle Svenson (Montclair, N.J.) came in 46th with a time of 21:59.35, while classmate
Ariana Van Ormer (Aliquippa, Pa.) and
Colleen Corman (Quaker Hill, Conn.) crossed the finish line in 22:36 to place 53rd and 54th, respectively. Sophomore
Bridgid Kelly (Sandwich, Mass.) added a 62nd-place showing with a time of 24:05.
Babson returns to action next Saturday when it travels to Waterford, Conn., for the Connecticut College Invitational.
