Women's Soccer Visits Brandeis on Wednesday Night

SERIES HISTORY

•    Babson is 18-25-4 all-time against Brandeis in a series that dates back to 1981.
•    The teams have split their last three meetings with each side winning on the road over the last two years in addition to a 1-1 2OT draw back in 2021. 
•    The Beavers' 47 matches against the Judges are the most in program history against a non-conference foe. 

LAST MEETING 
•    Yasla Ngoma scored the go-ahead goal 2:29 into the second half scored again in the 77th minute to help Brandeis defeat the Beavers, 3-1, on September 5, 2023, in Babson Park. 
•    Senior Jordyn Ferrantino gave Babson the lead in the 15th minute before Lacey Mbugua netted the equalizer just over 12 minutes later for the Judges. 
•    Sophomore Callahan Cottone finished with four saves for the Green and White, while her counterpart, Hannah Bassan of Brandeis, stopped five shots. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS 
•    Babson (0-1) suffered a 3-2 loss to Johnson & Wales in its season opener last Friday. 
•    Ferrantino recorded a goal and an assist and senior Laura Lukowicz notched her first career marker for the Beavers, who outshot the Wildcats 10-4 in the first half and 13-7 over 90 minutes. 
•    The Green and White returns 22 players from a team that finished 12-7-3 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015 after advancing to the NEWMAC Tournament final. 
•    Ferrantino finished second in the conference in scoring with 11 goals and three assists for 25 points, while Cottone (1.50 GAA, .793 save pct.) and senior Nora Ryan (1.67 GAA, .795) split time at goalkeeper for the Beavers. 

SCOUTING THE JUDGES
•    Brandeis (1-0) routed Fitchburg State 7-0 in its season opener last Friday. 
•    Tanvi Raju scored twice and had one assist, Peterly Leroy finished with two goals and Rachel Walter chipped in with two assists for the Judges, who led 4-0 at halftime and outshot the Falcons 39-2 for the game. 
•    Brandeis returns 19 players from a team that finished 6-8-3 overall and 0-7 in the UAA in 2023. 
•    Sydney Lenhart (5-1-11), Raju (3-1-7), Ngoma (3-0-6) and Elspeth Harker (2-0-4) combined to scored 13 of the team's 18 goals last fall, while Bassan and Amaya posted a 1.24 goals against average and a .767 save percentage to go along with three clean sheets in 17 contests. 

MOVING UP THE CHARTS
•    With three points in the season opener last Friday, Ferrantino is now tied for 14th in school history with 18 goals and 17th on the program's career list with 44 points. 
•    Over her last 30 games dating back to the end of the 2022 campaign, Ferrantino has produced 14 goals and five assists for 33 points.  

THREE DEBUT IN STARTING XI
•    Sophomore Olga Metelkine and first-years Josie Lee and Mack Feeney all were part of the starting lineup for the first time in their respective careers last Friday against Johnson & Wales. 
•    Lee and Feeney, who both recorded a shot on goal, were among five rookies to make their collegiate debuts in the loss. 

GRIGNARD SEES FIRST GAME ACTION
•    Junior goalkeeper Cleo Grignard made her collegiate debut playing 45 minutes last Friday against Johnson & Wales. 
•    She stopped one of two shots on target making her first career save in the 61st minute. 

 HISTORY LESSON
•    Ferrantino's 11 goals last fall were the most since Amy Festa '13 scored 11 times back in 2012. 
•    Sophomore Jadyn Mapura, who started 21 of 22 games last year, earned the Beavers' first NEWMAC Rookie of the Year selection since 2011 last November. 

POLL POSITION
•    After advancing to its first conference tournament final since 2015 last November, Babson was picked to finish second when the NEWMAC released its preseason coaches' poll last week. 
•    The Beavers went 8-1-2 in league play last fall while recording their highest point total (26) in the NEWMAC era, which dates back to 1998.
•    Over the last two seasons, the Green and White is 15-3-3 in regular season matches against conference foes. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    The Beavers went 5-2-2 on the road last season with the lone losses coming to teams that reached the NCAA Tournament - Bowdoin and MIT. 
•    Going back to the start of the 2022 campaign, Babson is 22-2-3 when conceding one goal or fewer.
•    The Green and White is 12-2-2 in the month of September over the last two seasons.
