WHAT TO KNOW
• Five members of the Babson men's and women's track & field programs will travel to Worcester, Mass., to compete against the top Division I, II and III athletes in the region at the two-day NEICAAA Championships beginning on Friday, hosted by the College of the Holy Cross.

Anthony Rodriguez of the Babson men's program will also travel to Williamstown, Mass., to compete in distance races in the Farley Inter Regional meet on Friday evening at Williams College.
WHO TO WATCH

Chris McDonough will compete in the 100-meter dash at the NEICAAA meet on Friday at 3:15 p.m.

Colleen Corman will take to the starting line in the women's 400-meter hurdles Friday at 3:35 p.m. and first-year
Stratton Seymour will compete in the men's 400-meter hurdles at 3:55 p.m.
• Junior
Julian Ivarra will compete in the men's 10,000 meters Friday at 6:15 p.m., and senior
Eric Bottern will compete in the men's shot put on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
• Rodriguez will compete in the men's 5,000-meter run at Williams on Friday at 6:35 p.m.
2023 NEICAAA CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
• Bottern broke program shot put record for the sixth time of the season with a mark of 56-feet, 8.75-inches on the way to capturing third place at the NEICAAA championships on May 13, 2023 at Northeastern University's Solomon Track and Field facility.
• Senior
Michael Agard placed 12th in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash in a time of 10.97 seconds, and placed 21st in the long jump with a leap of 20-feet, 9.25-inches. Junior
Jack Reynolds matched his career high in the high jump of 6-feet, 2.75-inches to place 13th, and Ivarra took 15th place in the 10,000 meters in a time of 32:22.58.
• On the women's side, sophomore
Brooke Jankowski finished 14th in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 15.14 seconds and junior
Angela Hagstrom placed 16th in the prelims of the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in 1:05.66.
BEAVER BITES
• Bottern repeated as the New England shot put champion and McDonough finished runner-up in the 100-meter dash to lead the Babson men to an 11th place finish at the Division III New England Championships last weekend at Mount Holyoke's Turf and Track.
• Babson also earned All-New England honors in the 4x100 meter relay as Agard, first-year
Kainoa Ronquilio, senior
Demarre Johnson, and McDonough finished third in a time of 41.65 seconds.
• Ivarra brought home fourth place in the 5,000 meters, finishing in a personal-best time of 14:59.36. Ronquilio turned in a ninth-place performance in the 400 meters in a season-best time of 49.58 seconds.
• Jankowski and sophomore
Trista Sicard posted the top finishes for the Babson women's squad. Jankowski placed 10th in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 15.69 seconds and Sicard finished 10th in the triple jump with a mark of 35-feet, 4.75-inches.
• The Beaver programs also combined for four individual champions at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championships on April 26-27, Rodriguez in the men's 10,000 meters, Bottern in the men's shot put, McDonough in the men's 100-meter dash, and first-year
Colleen Corman in the women's 400-meter hurdles.
NEWMAC HONORS
• Babson received five major awards when the NEWMAC announced its post-season awards this week based on voting by the league's six head coaches.
• Rodriguez was named the NEWMAC Men's Track Athlete of the Year for the second straight year, Bottern was voted Men's Co-Field Athlete of the Year, McDonough was selected as Men's Rookie of the Year, and head coach
Russ Brennen and his assistants
Brent Sitarski, Amber Spencer, Chris Ramsey and
Bob Fiedler were tabbed as Men's Coaching Staff of the Year.
• Corman represented the Babson women when she was named the NEWMAC Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Year.
NCAA QUALIFYING POSITION
• Three Babson men are under consideration for competing in the NCAA Division III Championships from May 23-25 at Myrtle Beach, S.C.
• Bottern is currently ranked eighth in Division III in the shot put with a throw of 56-feet, 4.5 inches. Rodriguez is ranked 15th in the 10,000 meters with a time of 29:43.61, and McDonough is ranked 23rd in the 100 meters with a time of 10.54 seconds.
