Stratton Seymour (Merrimac, Mass.) broke his own school record in men's 400-meter hurdles and the Babson College men's and women's track & field teams registered five top-six finishes at the MIT Final Chance Qualifier Thursday evening at MIT's Sherie and Don (1961) Morrison Track.
Seymour bettered his previous mark by 0.42 seconds on the way to coming in eighth with a time of 56.52 that was good for eighth position overall. The Beavers' top individual finisher on Thursday night was senior
Eric Bottern (Saint Paul, Minn.), who finished second in the shot put with a mark of 54-feet even.

Demarre Johnson (Dallas, Texas) and first-year
Chris McDonough (North Andover, Mass.) both recorded top-six times in the 100-meter dash prelims before finishing among the top five in the finals. McDonough bettered his prelim time of 10.72 by 0.01 seconds to place second, while Johnson ran 10.70 in the prelims and came in fifth overall with a time of 11.51 in the finals.

Julian Ivarra (Plano, Texas) crossed the finish line in sixth place in the 1500 meters in a time of 4:10.28, while sophomore
Joseph Addotta (Ridgefield, Conn.) finished 12th in the discus with a season-best mark of 130-feet, 1-inch. Bottern was right behind in 13th place with a mark of 127-feet, 3-inches.

Kainoa Ronquilio(Waipahu, Hawaii) also represented the Beavers with a 15th place finish in the 100 meters in 11.14 seconds.

Colleen Corman (Quaker Hill, Conn.), who was the lone female to compete for Babson on Thursday night, placed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.77.
Bottern in the shot put and senior
Anthony Rodriguez (Prairie View, Ill.) in the 10,000 meters are both expected to earn a spot at the NCAA Division III Championships when the official selections are announced at 8 p.m. on Friday night.
