No. 21 Women's Lacrosse to Host NEWMAC Newcomer Salve Regina on Saturday

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 3-0 all-time against Salve Regina in a series that dates back to 2001.
• Saturday's contest will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2005.
• The Beavers won each of the first three games by at least seven goals.

LAST MEETING
• Babson cruised to a 13-5 victory over the Seahawks on March 24, 2005 in Palm Beach County, Fla., for the first win of the season after four straight losses.
• Libby Bryant led the Beavers with four goals, Brittany Wigmore and Ashley Platt scored two each, and Anita Martignetti, Melissa Martin, Alexa Rad, Stacy Hambro and Erin Conroy scored one goal apiece.
• Jennie Williams made nine saves in goal for the Green and White and Margaret Schlachter made two stops.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 21 Babson (9-1, 5-0 NEWMAC) extended its winning streak to eight games with a 12-10 triumph at Roger Williams Thursday afternoon in Bristol, R.I.
• Graduate student Lily Ives scored six goals and Babson outscored Roger Williams 6-1 in the second quarter before staving off a second half comeback. Junior Amelia Novitch (Dover, Mass.) tallied two goals and two assists and classmate Clare Connolly scored three times and collected a game-high nine draw controls. Junior Jessica Evans contributed a goal and an assist, senior Eileen Manning scooped up a game-high six ground balls and caused three turnovers, and graduate student Anna Costello and senior Zoë Michaud combined for nine caused turnovers for the Green and White defense.
• Ives (30-9-39) regained the team scoring lead while junior Kathryn Blake (21-16-37) and Novitch (20-17-37) are tied for second just two points back. Evans (20-7-27) and Connolly (21-2-22) give the Beavers five players with at least 20 goals. Connolly has collected 111 draw controls and Costello (27) and Manning (22) lead the team in ground balls.
• The Green and White boast a tenacious defense as Costello has 28 caused turnovers while Manning (16) and fellow seniors Zoë Michaud (14) and Kayleigh Hacker (13) are all in double digits. Murphy has a 7.94 goals against average and a .411 save percentage.

SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS
• Salve Regina (7-3, 1-2 NEWMCAC) has dropped its last two games after a 15-5 setback against Coast Guard on Wednesday in Middletown, R.I.
• Junior Grace Haesche had a strong game in goal for the Seahawks and finished with 17 saves and seven ground balls. Junior Samantha Moleti led the offense with two goals and an assist, sophomore Trinity Custodia tallied a goal and a helper and juniors Edie Threshie and Kayli Garcia scored once each. Moleti and junior Cameron Baston also scooped up five ground ball apiece in the loss.
• Moleti (21-10-31) leads the team in scoring along with Threshie (16-10-26) and Garcia (13-9-23). Baston (14-5-19) and junior Holly Sullivan (14-2-16) are also tied for third on the team in goals. Team leaders in draw controls include Moleti (32), Baston (29) and junior Stella McCormack (20).
• Haesche (10.67 GAA, .518 sv. pct) has started all 10 game in goal for the Bears and tops the NEWMAC with 115 saves.

STREAKING BEAVERS
• Babson's current eight-game winning streak matches the eight-game streak in 2022 as the longest since the Beavers won nine in a row in 2016.
• The longest winning streaks in program history were 13 in a row in 1996 and 2009 and 12 straight in 2007 and 2012.

DOMINANCE IN THE NEWMAC
• Babson is 45-4 in regular season games against NEWMAC opponents since the start of 2016.
• Seventeen of the last 20 regular season conference victories going back to 2022 have been by at least 10 goals.

NATIONAL RANKINGS
• The Beavers are ranked seventh in Division III in scoring offense (17.2 goals/game) and eighth in scoring margin (+10.2).
• The Green and White are also ranked 13th in scoring defense (7.0 goals/game).
• Babson is 27th in draw controls per game (16.4) and 29th in caused turnovers per game (13.2).

BEAVER BITES
• Costello has caused at least one turnover in all 10 games this season, and has caused at least three turnovers in four straight and six of her last seven outings.
• Connolly has recorded double-digit draw controls in six of the last seven games, and 15 of the past 21 outings dating back to last season.
• Ives has scored goals in all 10 games this season and 50 consecutive games dating back to her career at Trinity.
• Evans has scored goals in 17 consecutive games dating back to last season.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Green and White are 19-2 since last season and 59-3 since the start of 2018 when leading at halftime.
• The Beavers are 9-0 this spring when scoring 12 or more goals, as well as 21-0 since the start of last season and 63-3 going back to the start of 2018.
• Babson has won 20 in a row and 30 of its last 31 games over the past three seasons when holding its foes to 10 goals or fewer.

• The Beavers will take on No. 16 MIT next Wednesday in a NEWMAC showdown at 6 p.m. in Cambridge.
