WHAT TO KNOW
• The Babson men's and women's track & field teams head to New London, Conn., for the Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday.
• The field events get underway at 10 a.m. with the track events set to start at 11 a.m.
LAST YEAR AT COAST GUARD
• Senior
Eric Bottern set a pair of program records in throwing events. He eclipsed the shot put standard with a first-place mark of 53-feet, 6.5-inches, and broke his own record in the hammer throw with a seventh-place mark of 146-feet, 10-inches, more than nine feet longer than his previous mark. Junior
Jack Reynolds took second place in the high jump with a leap of 6-feet, 0.75 inches
• The top performance in men's track events was from
Yudai Yamakawa '23, who finished third in the 5000 meters in a personal-best time of 15:55.93.
• Sophomore
Robyn Wilkes turned in the top showing for the Beaver women, running the 100 meters in a personal-best time of 12.72 seconds to take third place. Babson had four of the top 10 finishers in the 100-meter hurdles, led by sophomore
Brooke Jankowski in third place in a PR time of 15.65. Junior
Angela Hagstrom crossed the finish line in second place in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:08.00, and Caroline Reilly '23 placed third in the 400 meters in a PR time of 1:02.12.
• Jankowski also posted a third-place finish in the high jump with a personal-best leap of 5-feet, 1.75-inches, and junior
Trista Sicard was third in the triple jump with a mark of 34-feet, 8.5 inches.
SCOUTING THE BABSON MEN
• The Beavers are coming off an impressive second-place finish out of 17 teams at the Tufts Snowflake Classic last Saturday in Medford, posting 11 top-four finishes.
• Junior
Julian Ivarra came in first in the 10,000-meters with a career-best time of 31:31.22, while Bottern won the shot put (53-feet, 1.75-inches) and came in second in the hammer (151-feet, 10-inches). Senior
Michael Agard highlighted a strong day for the sprinters by coming in second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.96. First-year
Kainoa Ronquilio placed fourth in the 100-meter finals with a time of 11.14.

Gabe Rosenberg and junior
Harrison Prucher both qualified for the New England Championships with strong finishes in the 110-meter hurdles. Roseberg came in third with a time of 15.89, which was just 0.06 seconds ahead of Prucher, who placed fourth.
• Agard took fourth in the long jump with a leap of 20-feet, 9.75-inches, Reynolds and first-year
Jordan Wright placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the triple jump, and the duo of first-years
Almond Nickerson IV and
Jack Gramer were fourth and fifth in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
SCOUTING THE BABSON WOMEN
• The Beavers finished in 11th place out of 20 teams at the Tufts Snowflake Classic last Saturday in Medford.
• Hagstrom led the Green and White with a first place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 1:01.74, edging the runner-up by 0.07 seconds. She also placed seventh in the 200 meters with a time of 26.37.
• Sicard was the runner-up in the triple jump with a leap of 34-feet, 11-inches, while classmate
Ashna Krishnamurthy finished sixth in the long jump after clearing 16-feet, 3.25-inches. Wilkes took sixth in the 100-meter finals with a time of 12.92 and classmate
Julia Pike qualified with a time of 16.36 in the 400-meter hurdles before coming in sixth in the finals with a time of 16.66.

Colleen Corman came in seventh in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:10.58 and classmate
Jillian Chinchillo placed 11th in the triple jump in her collegiate debut with a mark of 29-feet, 5.25-inches.
MCDONOUGH EARNS WEEKLY HONOR
• First-year
Chris McDonough was named New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Track Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon.
• The Beaver rookie began his collegiate career with school records in both the 100 meters (10.56) and 200 meters (21.83) at the Ross & Sharon Irwin Collegiate Meet on March 16. He then bettered his time in the 100 meters by running 10.54 at the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State University last Friday.
PROGRAM RECORDS
• The Beavers have combined to set three program records in the early going this spring.
• In addition McDonough in the men's 100 and 200 meter dashes, Wilkes established a women's mark in the 200 meters with a 26.04 at the Ross & Sharon Irwin Collegiate Meet on March 16.
TEAM RANKINGS
• The Babson men are ranked fourth this week in the East region by the US Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
• Their 461.77 points are behind only Tufts, Bridgewater State, and Colby, and ahead of MIT, WPI, Southern Maine, Bates, UMass Dartmouth and Bowdoin.
• The Babson women are ranked 13th in the East region with 214.15 points, which is fourth among NEWMAC schools behind Wheaton (3rd, 383.59), WPI (4th, 379.58), and MIT (5th, 348.99).
TOP DIVISION III PERFORMANCES
• The Babson men have four performances that rank in the top 50 in Division III this spring, including two in the top 10. McDonough's time of 10.54 in the 100 meters ranks fourth best, Bottern's shot put mark of 16.21 meters (53-feet, 2.25-inches) is ranked seventh nationally, McDonough's 21.83 in the 200 is 37th, and Ivarra's time of 31:31.22 in the 10,000 meters is 47th fastest in Division III.
• The Babson women have one mark that ranks in the top 40 in Division III this spring. Hagtrom's time of 1:05.19 in the 400 meter hurdles is ranked 19th nationally.
UP NEXT
• The Beavers will send a contingent of student-athletes to the UMass Multi-Meet on Wednesday and Thursday in Amherst, beginning at 10 a.m., and the full teams will return to New London, Conn., for the Connecticut College Silfen Invitational on Friday (2 p.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m.).
