SCOUTING THE JUMBOS
• No. 14 Tufts (28-6) has won eight of its last nine games after defeating Colby, 11-9, in game two of Saturday's doubleheader in Waterville, Maine.
• Josie Steinberg hit a two-run homer in the first inning, Heaven Oliva went 2-for-3 with a solo shot and two RBI for the Jumbos, who built an early 7-0 lead and took advantage of six errors by the Mules to hold off a late rally.
• Kaitlyn Perucci is batting .426 with 13 doubles, two home runs and 32 runs batted in, Steinberg is hitting .388 with 14 doubles, one homer, 36 RBI and 26 runs scored, and Michelle Adelman checks in at .376 with seven extra-base hits, 11 stolen bases, 19 RBI and 26 runs scored.
• Sophia DiCocco (11-4, 0.80 ERA) has four saves, five shutouts and a 1.02 WHIP in 96.2 innings, while Sky Johnson has gone 11-1 with a 1.01 ERA, five shutouts and 86 strikeouts in 90.1 innings of work this season.
O'REILLY MAKES MORE HISTORY
• O'Reilly, who became the program's all-time leader in shutouts in the game one victory at Salve Regina and was tabbed as the NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week on Monday, became the first Babson hurler to record back-to-back no-hitters in Saturday's doubleheader.
• In addition to being the Beavers' career leader in strikeouts (729), shutouts (21) and hits allowed per seven innings (4.85), she ranks second all-time in wins (58), innings pitched (512.1), starts (74) and winning percentage (.734), and is third in ERA (1.71) and complete games (60).
• In nine starts going back to April 6, O'Reilly is 9-0 with five shutouts, a 0.70 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 60.0 innings. She boasts a 0.82 WHIP and is holding opposing hitters to a .148 average during this stretch.
HOT AT THE PLATE
• Over the last 14 games, Russell is batting .465 (20-for-43) with four doubles, 11 stolen bases, six RBI and 13 runs scored, and has at least one hit in all but two contests. She has raised her average from .162 to .325 during this stretch.
