LEWISBURG, Pa.—Babson College senior
Anthony Rodriguez (Prairie View, Ill.) broke his own school record in the 5000 meters on Saturday night at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University.
Rodriguez, who ran in the third of three heats, posted a time of 14:31.92 that was over eight seconds faster than his previous career best. He finished eighth among Division III runners and 16th overall among 101 competitors.
Rodriguez now owns the top eight times in program history in the 5000 meters and Saturday night's mark at Bucknell was over 24 seconds faster than his previous season best achieved back on March 16 at the Ross and Sharon Irwin Collegiate Meet in San Diego, Calif.
Rodriguez and his Babson teammates are back in action next Friday and Saturday at MIT's Sean Collier Invitational.
