NEW LONDON, Conn.—Senior
Eric Bottern (Saint Paul, Minn.) finished first in the shot put and broke his own school record in the hammer throw to highlight a number of strong performances on Saturday as the Babson College men's track & field team came in sixth at the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College.
Bottern recorded a throw of 55-feet in the shot put that currently ranks first in the NEWMAC and fifth in Division III. He broke his own record in the hammer by nearly four feet with a throw of 162-feet, 8-inches to finish third, and also finished sixth with a result of 135-feet, 8-inches in the discus on Friday night.
Nicolas Kube (Dover, Mass.) recorded a season-best throw of 171-feet, 2-inches to finish fourth in the javelin, while senior
Demarre Johnson (Dallas, Texas) posted a season-best time of 22.71 in the 200 meters, which was good for fourth place. Johnson also teamed with first-years
Stratton Seymour (Merrimac, Mass.),
Niko Manolakos (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and
Aryan Dass (New Delhi, India) to take third place in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:39.50.
Junior
Harrison Prucher (Hopkinton, Mass.) came in seventh in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.22, which was three spots ahead of first-year
Gabe Rosenberg (Silver Spring, Md.), who crossed the finish line in 16.84. Rosenberg also placed 17th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.77.
Dass placed eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 51.67, sophomore
Joseph Addotta (Ridgefield, Conn.) finished 13th with a throw of 117-feet, 9-inches in the discus on Friday and junior
Jack Reynolds (Fairfield, Conn.) and first-year
Jordan Wright (Haworth, N.J.) came in 13th and 15th, respectively, in the triple jump. Reynolds recorded a leap of 38-feet, 11-inches, while Wright cleared 37-feet, 9.25-inches.
Junior
Will Dean (Belmont, Mass.) came in 14th in the javelin with a season-best result of 144-feet, 8-inches, which was three spots ahead of Reynolds, who recorded a throw of 138-feet, 10-inches. Dean also placed 17th in the long jump (18-feet, 9.75-inches), while senior
Liam Cosgrove (Wakefield, Mass.) came in 17th with a throw of 117-feet, 10-inches in the hammer and 19th with a toss of 38-feet, 3.50-inches in the shot put.

Reid Dixon (Lawrenceville, Ga.) finished 16th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.50, while first-year
Nicolas Tchkotoua (Stamford, Conn.) placed 18th in the 400 meters, crossing the finish line in 53.78.
Babson will travel to Cambridge, Mass., for the Sean Collier Invitational at MIT next Friday and Saturday.
